Transmision stuck in 2nd gear - 1965 Chevrolet Corvette

It is due to be rebuilt

The fluid change didn't help any,
maybe made it worse.

my clutch was stuck in 2nd gear today...what would make a transmision stick in second gear?

the valve body in the transmision is stuck or went bad,i woiul try some kind of transmision additve(lucas ect..)but it looks like the trany its on the way out.

If second gear stuck it need rebuilt ore replaced.
check what labor to rip one out replace a junk yard one ore check see what cost rebuilt it.
stay away form amco there rip off artist.
Your cost about 900 to 1000/.
if you do your self 600 for junk yard one and few hundread if you can get rebuild kit rebuild the trasmission your self.
I took trans rebuilt i rather buy used ore pay some rebuild it.

Sure sounds like the torque converter is bad to me. Usually after the fluid gets hot, this problem shows up. Specially since it's in ALL gears......sorry o;(>

a good start would b have the van scanned that should point u in the right direction hope this helps

Maybe, but won't know till you take it too tranny shop. Even iif it is done a rebuilt is still cheaper than brand new. And, less you drive it now less damage done.
