How do I change the driver side door handle for a '97 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS?

Check my solution for the Chrysler Sebring door handle problem. The Sebring, Avenger and Eclipse are very similar since the Chrysler cars are built on a Mitsubishi Galant platform using many parts that are identical to the Eclipse of the same years.

Eclipse door handle broke so how do i replace it? how do i install?

on the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. You can then disconnected the rod from the back of the inside handle and replace. If it's the outside handle, remove the weather seal and remove the bolts holding the outer handle on

Sounds like the latch is stuck in the intermediate position. the actuator or latch probably needs replaced. Go to the dealer on this one.

I have a 99 mitsubishi eclipse and I'm wondering how to install the door handle

i just did one on passenger door, roll window up, use 1/4" sockets, on door end, by door latch there is a 10mm, level with door handle, take off door panel inside, you'll see the window where its bolted, just behind that dip down shape of the window where it attaches, you'll see another 10mm bolt, take those 2 bolts out, remove the two extension rods, cliped on to handle lever, and lock cylinder, one on handle is white clip, one on cylinder is green clip, flip the snap part of clip away from rod, and slide rod out of clip hole, walla, pull handle out, unclip retainer clip from around slots holding cylinder into handle, and your done, p.s. try to reclip door handle rod into white clip before bolting back in to gain easier access to white clip and rod, green isnt as hard

2006 impala passenger door won't open

have someone from the outside pull the handle up while you pound the door from the inside. the latch became frozen from lack of lubrication. once open, spray the **** out of it with wd40 or pb blaster and work the latch till it moves freely

You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
