If it is the front brakes then it is a brake caliper that has a frozen piston or a restricted brake hose....if it is in the rear brakes then it is most likely a parking brake cable stuck on

What causes brakes to 'stick' when pedal tapped?

the ABS does not cause the brakes to stick, they cause them not to stick so I would have to agree with them on that. Did you ever drive another journey to see if that vehicle had a similar feel to the brakes. It might just be the way the vehicles are?

If the ESP and ABS lights are on than there is likely a problem with the ABS system. The only way to find out what is going on is to scan the ABS system for codes and work from there. Any reputable shop will be able to do this.

My mazda 626 1997 2.5 v6 stalls out every time i take out oil dip stick

I discovered that removing the dip stick also breaks the vacuum and causes the engine to run really rough. I'm not surprised to hear you get stalls. don't worry too much, just check your oil when the engine is off.!

Squeaky noise when applying breaks

semi-metallic pads can cause noise from glazing over if you are too rough on them, or a crappy pad composition. get some BG brand STOP SQUEAL and apply it to the pads. clears it right up

My 1992 500 wont go pass 25-30miles per hour

i would say check brakes first, make sure you dont have a sticking caliper. take off breaks press in caliper, if it wont go in replace the caliper, i would say your brake system would be making the sticking feeling and not the transmission from how you make it sound.

Ford Escape Breaks

Did you replace them yourself or did you take them to a "qualified brake specialist"? It sounds like your brake lines need to be bled properly. You may also have one or more calipers sticking to cause the vibration.
