    2004 chrysler sebring 2.4

    stalled and will not start.

    Cranking okay, all systems working.

Turn key on, check engine lights solid, then flashes ten seconds then goes back to solid light.

    Only 68,000 miles on car!

Any clues as to why it will not start or checks I can do?

2004 nissan frontier intermittent starting problem with shift lock

Shift lock is just a safety feature, so you have your foot on the brake, when you put it in gear. It has nothing to do with starting the car. Intermittent starting problems can be a few different things. Ignition switch, park/neutral safety switch, wiring, and corrosion. If it clicks when trying to start, it cold be loose/corroded battery cables or a bad battery.

Jimmy has problems starting when its cold. the egr code popped can this cause a starting hesitation problem?

Yes the egr valve could cause starting problems. If it is sticking open it would cause a huge vac leak.
I would want to know what the trouble codes are in the computer first. Those codes would help a mechanic nail down the problem area and what to check.

1996 Ford Taurus has been having problems starting up

Get a new battery - I did and it works OK.
Make sure it is the high output type as used in Jeeps etc. Check spec book for it in shop.
