if you are failing emmissions test your evaporator canister is expired replace it and then you and your car will get a green light

u could chek ur gas cap for tightness and oring around threads on cap may b deteriorated causing a bad seal against filler neck.u should b able to tell the difference between a good and bad oring. if ok then next best thing is to have the car checked at a garage where they can run a smoke test throughout the evap system to pin point any leaks in the system. the larger the leak the easier to find ,the smaller the leak the harder an more time consuming it is to find. good luck

P1000 just means drive cycle not complete for emissions testing.

Listen for your fuel pump to run, that might be the issue. If the engine sounds like it is turning over faster than normal, your timing belt is broken.

That code is for the Evaporative Emissions. It could be a bad Evaporative Emissions Canister Valve or just a bad vacuum line or my granddaughter's 1997 Ford Escort had that code and her gas cap was NOT on. Now when you figure out what one it is disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to reset the computer.
