It is the relay switch but there's a workaround and you don't have to spend 800 bucks plus. You can take down part of the headliner and replace the relay switch or, if you want to avoid spending the money, you can simply disable the sunroof - after all - who uses it? You can a.) pull the headliner driver side to get to the rear relay/motor and reverse polarity (the connector) as long as you have the front top console plug jumpered to open/close the sunroof or b.) get to the rear relay without totally dissaembling your car and replace the relay in about 2 hours and after spending about $180 for the part.

I have the exact same problem, i hear the clicking. now, on mine at least, it is not off track. The motor works just fine. it is infact the relay switch like the dealer said. it is a little black box located right next to the motor. however, finding this relay box for sale is difficult. dealer charges $189, no way i'm paying that. junk yard might have it. if anyone finds some for sale online, let me know.

It sounds like it's off track. I would strongly suggest you take it to a dealership to make sure it get fixed correctly or it will leak.

My sunroof is stuck open on my 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo? Would it be a fuse? If so, how do you change it?

Definitely, you'll have to take a look to see if any obstruction is visible. To check the fuses first you'll need to find them. The fuse block cover should illustrate what each fuse is for. You can visibly check the fuses, with a flashlight. Just take a look at the sunroof fuse and check that its not burned. That the metal inside goes from one side to the other and its not burned or broken. You can use a test light or a multimeter, a test-light will do. I usually check them visibly, its obvious when you have a blown fuse just by looking at it. Its better just to pull out the suspected fuse to check it.

My sunroof has opened and now it won't close. Any clues?

You will have to remove the sunroof motor, and the sunroof glass. Then you can move the guide tracks seperately until they are in the closed position. Then you can put the glass and motor back in, remove the power source (fuse or disconnect wire harness) to prevent any accidental opening until you can get it fixed. Chances are that a guide track or cable is broken, this can be a costly fix. Do not take it to the dealership, they will only want to install a whole sunroof unit. Take it to a local shop that installs aftermarket sunroofs

Sunroof won't close

clean the runners on the sunroof watching out for trapped debris. try lubricating the runners with a fine lubricant with a clothe, make sure no debris caught in motor also.
