My 2001 Toyota 4Runner Vibrates on motion

get hands on help no body here can find noise.
nobody on line can do that. and is dangerous to try DIY here.
we use an electronic stethoscope (microphones) to find LOCATION.
find the location, then work that.
its not easy, nor safe to do. with out my tool.
guessing is impossible.
a mechanic will do that find the location
then say its the right front, take that all apart and inspect it.
some issues are very dangerous to ignore.
brakes
wheel bearings.
CV joints.
suspension problems. (last one i found was lower A arm was falling off , i saw the bolt loose and missing nut.
or by flexing all parts with a lever. to see bad motion.
as you can see this is a very hands on deal.

1999 Nissan Pathfinder jerks and vibrates in motion

Sounds like a regular cylinder miss.
Is the check engine light on ?
Its also possible you have a pulley or something out of balance.

Vibration only between 22 mph and 30 mph on my s10 (1999)

The vibration that is experienced must be confirmed if you can take a good test drive, asking a friend to drive in an empty road while you check on the front and back wheels for wobbling or noise.
If so the fault can be a worn out tyre, faulty wheel bearings or a hub.
Also the noise can be relative of the universal joints or the drive axle or propeller shaft going eccentric.
If you take an inspection under the car the loose universal joints or play on the propeller shaft can be confirmed. Also a fault in suspension/steering section cannot be ruled out.

Vibrations after propeller strike ???

chances are the prop has an unbalance condition...You can also check it for excessive runnout by simply referencing it against something and turning it. all blades should remain at the same distance from reference point as you turn it. You can do this to check the shaft as well.

Vibration Dampener Removal

Before your suspects the engine dampener, pls try to see the propeller shaft. maybe it knocks on your under chassis frame. If ever propeller shaft is not the cause that's the time that you have to check the dampener.

You can remove the dampener when you're under your car. Damperners placed in-between the Flywheel and Propeller Shaft flanged. A 3 or 4 bolts must be removed.

check the dampener for wears, if the rubber dampeners shows no wears, It was only misaligned.

hope this could help.

Vibration

Hi,

Could either be wheel balancing problem or your universal joints needs replacement. The U-joints (or sometimes called cross joints) links the transmission to the propeller shaft and the propeller shaft to the differential. At certain times, it could be the locks or clamps or even the support of the propeller shaft or any of the components of the drivetrain.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

MY 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER HAS A BAD U JOINT THAT IS

Very common problem. This piece is covered by Nissan for 60000 miles or 5 years. And its most likely one of the front u-joints that failed.
