Not glue use what came factory on it meaning double sided tape. i kn ow that sounds dumb but double sided tape is actually a foam adheisive strip that is actually quite strong and more reliable and quicker than glue. just go to the local parts store and ask for it double sided molding tape

The strip molding across the side of the car has loosened and needs to be secured. are there clips or is it repaired by sticky double tape? It is a 2002 Buick Park Avenue

This is actually done with a special glue which you can get from most Auto Parts stores or Walmart even. Before you re-install the strip your are going to want to remove it completely so you can clean the strip and the mounting area.

2 inches of water every time it rains only on my passenger side

Water is probably from the fresh air intake located just under the right plastic cowl (lower windshield reveal molding). We see this often in our shop. To access the fresh air intake, remove the right windshield wiper and then remove the screws fastening the cowl to the car body. Remove the right cowl. Just above the rectangle shaped fresh air intake (& cabin filter) should be a bulb shaped strip (approx 12" long). All too often, this strip comes off and no longer diverts water. Glue the strip back onto the firewall above the fresh air intake using weatherstrip adhesive. Reattach parts that you removed and now the water should be diverted to either (or both) side(s) of the cabin filter. Good luck

How do I replace the passenger side exterior mirror?

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

The side black moulding strip on my 97 vw has come off. seems like previous owner tried to glue it back on. bought it used just yesterday! I have the strips in my trunk not sure if i should try to re-glue...

I would clean the track with goo b gone or some paint thinner to get all the old adhesive off, then wash and dry the track. Then get some quality automotive adhesive and glue it back in the track. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Mirror glass replacement on drivers side

i don't have aviator. here's explorer, should be the same.

You will see a small rectangle where the screwdriver goes in. You are pryingtowards glass. The retention is about a 3 inch rectangle that has a lip around it that snaps onto a rectangle on the mirror body.

99 explorer drivers side mirror vibrates

are you trting to tighten the mirror glass or the mirror where it attaches to the body? I don't think glass is removable in 99. Only can try to press on glass to seat if unseated. not too hard.

  1. Remove the front door trim panel; refer to Section 501-05 .
  2. go to car-part.com for a used mirror. Page with * is cheapest seller.
  1. Remove the speaker.
    1. Remove the screws.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Remove the speaker.
  1. Remove the outside rear view mirror (17682).
    1. Disconnect the power mirror wiring clips.
    1. Remove the outside rear view mirror nuts.
    1. Remove the outside rear view mirror.
      • Feed the power mirror wiring through the opening in the front door (20124).

Back glass coming loose from the vinal

I had the vynal pull away from the bottom of the glass on mine. Fortunetly it was still under the 36,000 mile warrenty. Took it to 2 different dealers and both told me it is a common problem but the back glass had to be replaced because the vynal comes with the glass and reglueing won't work because the vynal shrinks over time. Hopefully that helps.
