Sounds like the engine overheated, and blew the head gasket. With the modern aluminum blocks & heads, loss of cooling power spells death for the engine....all in less than 10 minutes. (*Had it happen to a 1991 Pontiac Grand Am, with a newly rebuilt engine, less that 2000 miles on it.*)

Smoke coming from engine

Where is the white smoke coming from? Under hood? Out tail pipe? If excessive white smoke from tail pipe, suspect a head gasket failure which in turn will fill the cooling system with exhaust pressure forcing the coolant to come out of the reservoir and resulting in an overheating problem

Water in oil

Water in oil means the jacket seals are bad. In some cases that happens when the block cracks from very cold temps. Either way you need to have the engine checked by a technician ASAP.

88 thunderbird white smoke and water coming from tail pipe

Possibly a blown head gasket, letting coolant into the cylinders to be burned. White smoke is usually coolant burning. Have the engine's compression tested to verify.

White smoke coming from the tail pipe when i start the car

if its happening during non cold weather then you may have a head gasket going bad and need can have a combustion chamber test and a co test done on the cooling system to see if anything aware that may not show a problem depending on how early on the gasket is in deterioration.have you had to add coolant to the system or have recently noticed the level going down in the overflow bottle or rad.this is another way of showing a possible head gasket problem.white smoke indicates the burning of coolant.

I have true duels on my 1986 chevy pickup. It has a 305 motor. It only smokes on the passenger side of the tail pipe blue smoke only when the motoor gets hot. If im going down the road it stops. When I...

Bad news. Depending on what your mileage is, you can have a burnt valve, sticking lifter, bad piston ring all on the right side of the engine. The blue smoke is burning oil. Oil from the crank case is being compressed up into the cylinder and being burned. You will have to get a compression check on that side of the engine. You check the compression one sparkplug at a time while the engine idles. A loss in compression will tell you what cylinder is failing.

There is white smoke that come from the tail pipe and a little every 4 minutes under the hood did that like four time than stop and the fan is not coming on what could these things be

White smoke out of the tail pipe may be an indication of a bad head gasket in the engine. Pull your oil dipstick out and see if the oil looks a little milky.

I am having a hard time starting my 1999 oldsmobile intrigue and when it starts white smoke is coming out tail pipe and change oil light and engine coolant light os coming on and it overheats after driving...

I am sure this is a head casket problem. If coolant gets into your cylinders, it will cause the white smoke, and also thin the oil if it gets in the base pan. Do not operate this vehicle until it has been checked by a mechanic, or you will ruin the motor
