Your control unit is likely getting wet. You need to look at where it is, and see about getting it either replaced, or resealed.

As far as cost, that I couldn't tell you. But if it's able to be resealed, and there is no permanent damage to the electronics, that will definitely be your cheaper option.

ther will probably be a wire loom connector under the carpet under your feet and if the water has been getting to it I would saf that it will be correded and rusted . Check the wiring from front to back and check all connections for rust and rot

My 2001 sunfire starts fine.but after i drive for about half hour it will stall and wnt start again for half hour.the oil light stays on when this happens.wassup with this?

This happened with my Sunfire. It was the radiator. The engine wasn't cooling, but the sensor wasn't showing that it was overheating. So the engine would start when it was cool, but as soon as it got hot, then if I stopped it wouldn't start again.

Sounds like water in your distributor. I would replace you cap and might as well do your rotor while you are at it. Cheap and easy to do...
