I have a 1996 Dakota and I also replaced my battery and lost power to the Radio along with my Dome Light. YES! I have checked power coming in to both and replaced dome bulb, but still no power. I'm currently checking fusable links.

Have you checked the power going to the radio?
First check the fuse in the block.
If it's an aftermarket radio, it may also have an inline fuse for the power.

You can cheak for power by using a simple 12v circuit tester.
Once you establish it does have power going to it, then check across the system to make sure it is grounded correctly.

After that, then I would start looking for anti theft disables.

On my 2011 dodge journey my battery died then I jump started it and now my radio and all that controls my climate and won't come on what would be the problem??

with the battery dying the radio and equipment that has anti theft circuits have had the anti theft codes activated . You will need a code for the radio before it will work again and for anything else may be a reset of the CPU using a scanner will be the answer.

Dodge anti theft module

I suspect that there are wires chafing inside the steering column. Vibration while driving and turning the wheel for turns cause these wires to come into contact with other wires or grounds thay were not intended. You may need to look in this area more closely and repair insulation that is missing from the wires. A few wraps of quality electrical tape *and* repositioning the wire(s) so that they are not pulled / stretched again and / or inserting something non-conductive between the wire(s) should solve the problem.
Good luck!

My battery went dead on my 2001 galant. I

the stereo may have connection with your anti theft device, drive your car to the dealer and they can reset the device for you at a minimal charge. this should resolve these issues. Good luck

You have an anti theft radio. You will need to a local Chervrolet dealer and give them your vin number and they can give you the code and help you unlock the radio.

I have 2001 doge dakota and left ignition on and

Not sure but you may have a radio that needs a code input. the radio thinks it was taken out and a code needs to be put back in at the proper time. if you bought the truck new it should be in oners manual. if not you have to get it from a dealer. you may have to pay for it.

Put new battery in now my radio wont work, how to

Somehere in the owners manual or the supplimentary sound system booklet, you should find a hand written number, it should be about 4 digits long. That is your radio lockout code.

You may have to just go the dealership and see if they have a way to get the code.

Battery replaced on 2001 grand dodge caravan now radio dont work

U will need to enter the radio anti theft code, this lock out was triggered by the loss of voltage to the radio during the battery change, this code is unique to each radio and cam in the owners information packet when the cat was sold new.

no its not a fuse the anti theft built in the radio has locked you out and the only way to get it to work again is pull it out and copy all the numbers that are on it call your local dealer for that vehicle ask for parts department tell them you replaced the battery and need the unlock code for the stereo. also it will help you if you tell them u work for a mechanic shop just give them the name of one they dont question anything. and they'll give you the code

Unlock code for radio

There are a couple of ways here...first if you bought the car new then you should have received a "credit card" with your owners manual, that should have the activation code on it, if you purchased the car used then you will have to go to the dealership and show proof that you are the owner of that car and they will look up the code and give it to you.
