2005 Freestyle SEL. AWD Malfunction light, and traction control, simoutanelously come on. Had the Oil pressure sensor replaced and the same problem occurs. Maybe I'll mention the solenoid to my mechanic, but I have a feeling this is gonna be expensive. And if so, it'll be the end of the line.

I am having the same problem--just started today. Interesting about the selenoid on the drivers side---would i possible feel a small thump when turning?? Every now and then when i make a sharp left, I feel something thump under my feet.

There is a solenoid that activates the all wheel drive it's located on the front of the axle housing on the drivers side of transmission chances are that it needs replacing.

Sometimes stabilitrak service message comes on, but the car drives good.

If you took it to get a code readout, you might have a safer idea of what sensor might be having a malfunction. Is the message under normal driving conditions? Or are you experiencing these messages under snow and ice or rain? Stability lights will come on during hard accerations also because it is a complete different computing system that adjusts your ride as you go. If you are experiencing this during horseplay then it is doing its job to inform you it is working but if it is coming n during normal driving conditions then you are experiencing something worth getting check out by a real professional that can prove what is wrong rather than guess.

4 wheel drive won't engage

Which do you have ?
Transfer Case - NVG 236 (Two Speed Automatic)
Transfer Case - NVG 233-NP1 (Two Speed Selectable)
The NV236 transfer case is an automatic transfer case with three drive ranges. Shifting from rear wheel drive to four wheel drive is done automatically when the transfer case shift control module receives wheel rotating slip information from the speed sensors. The transfer case shift control module then engages the transfer case motor/encoder to position the transfer case from rear to four wheel drive. When the transfer case shift control module receives information that the wheel rotation is the same on both axles, the transfer case shift control module sends position information to the motor/encoder to put the transfer case back into rear wheel drive. The three drive ranges are 2HI, 4HI, and 4LO. The 2HI position is for normal driving with the rear wheels pushing the vehicle. The 4HI, position is for driving through sand, snow, mud, gravel, or heavy rain at normal or slightly below normal speeds. The 4HI engages the front axle to allow for four wheel drive. The front axle is pulling the vehicle, and the rear axle is pushing the vehicle. The 4LO range is used for off road driving, heavy snow, deep mud, or shallow fording. The 4LO is similar to the 4HI except that the gearing in the transfer case is set for low speed and high torque. The NV236 is manufactured at Syracuse New York by New Venture Gear a division of New Process Gear for General Motors.

I have toyota sienna 2002 . ABS warning is coming on and off while driving. I checked with the local mechanic. He changed the wheel air pressure censor and changed the connecting wires too. but still the...

The wheel air pressure sensor only records the air pressure, the speed sensor or as its sometimes called abs sensor sends the signal that abs is engaged. When they malfunction it can send a false signal that the wheel is sliding or going slower than the other wheels which can engage the abs system or cause the abs light to eluminate. Have your mech check the speed sensors and abs system.

The TCS<ABS> warning light on my Hyundai

If you are driving in slick conditions on snow and ice or on wet pavement, this could be NORMAL OPERATION. The lights are coming on to let you know that the Traction Control System (TCS) and the Antilock Brake System (ABS) is actively correcting a wheel slip condition.

If this is happening on dry pavement, and you are not driving like a maniac, (making the wheels slip and slide) then there is possibly a problem with one of your wheel speed sensors that is making your TCS and ABS computers "think" that there is a wheel slipping. You will have to scan your computer system and watch the wheel speed sensor data to find out which one is malfunctioning.

Abs and trac active dash lights are on

If they are coming on momentarily when you are driving in slick conditions this is normal operation. If they are staying on all the time, even when you are driving on dry pavement. there is a broblem with your Antilock Brake and Traction Control system. A very common problem is a wheel speed sensor that is malfunctioning. Your vehicle is equipped with 4 wheel speed sensors. You will have to access the data in the Antilock Brake Control Module to find out which one it is.

Service traction system, abs & tra off lights come on when you start car the service message goes off after a while. however the other two stat on. what is the problem?

There are wheel speed senors that tell the computer about wheel slippage. One or both are malfunctioning or the wiring is chaffed.

ABS light is on all the time as well as Traction Control light. Grinding occurs while driving

with traction control set up cars abs and tranction control sensors are in the wheel bearings when a wheel bearing goes out grinding will come from front wheels and will ruin abs and traction control sensors causing the malfunction. Most likely by your description this will be it.

Abs light comes on while driving

Hi there,

In the event of the ABS light coming on whilst driving, means the ABS computer has detected either a malfunction, or one of the sensors is not operating as it should.

When the ABS light comes on, the computer will de-activate the ABS function of your braking, and your vehicle will now be operating under normal brakes (i.e. no anti-locking ability) and will now be susceptible to wheel lock-up under extreme emergency braking.

I would highly recommend you have the ABS computer scanned for 'trouble codes'. This will tell you "where" in the ABS system, the fault lies.

It could be anything from a simple wheel sensor needing adjustment, to a faulty pump.

As with all modern vehicles, your respective onboard vehicle computer will 'tell you' where the problem lies.
