YES we have spark... NO to fuel pressure... driverside cargo panel, 3x6x1 black module with white tab (plunger?) does not move and red LED does not respond to any switch input... still we have crank but no fire...

have located the inertia-switch but the red button is depressed, appears normal... a group of (3) switch relays under hood (passenger side) click at the ON position, green relay clicks again 2-seconds later... engine now cranks normal and has fired briefly but is sporadic...

Check at the battery on the neg side you should find a thick black wire coming from the neg battery post follow it to a connector located next to the starter sol. I think you will find it corroded. cut it out and rejoin the wire.

Has anyone checked the fuel pressure? Is there Spark at the Spark plugs? These are very important things that I need to know to help you.
The fuel pump shut off switch is in the rear luggage area on one of the sides under the plastic covering. Make sure that the plunger is pushed down and that there is power to the switch for only 2 seconds right after you turn on the ignition you do not have time to turn on the ignition and walk back the power shuts off in 2 seconds. you need two people if you have power TO the switch then check for power OUT of the switch in the very same way if you have power to and out and the pump does not run contact me at
fixincars@yahoo.com
Make sure you have spark plugs

Why won't my 1991 camaro start?

Spark or fuel. Start with spark. There are inexpensive little test lights that will let you know if you're getting spark. If you have spark, start looking for a problem in your fuel system. Do you hear the pump kick on when you turn on the key before you start cranking? Is its air choked off? In line fuel filter that could be clogged? Fuel pressure? Injectors firing? Start with the easy stuff and rule out possibilities one-by-one until you find what's keeping the engine from getting spark, air, or gas.

I have a 1991 motor home with a 454 engine, I have replaced the oil sending unit twice, the distributor cao and bug. The modual test good. It will start and run for about 20 seconds then dies. runs rough...

It looks like you answered my clarification request by posting a new question. Don't do that... keep it here. I inadvertently answered that question, thinking that someone had started a new thread with no information but "My vehicle has a caburetor."

This really sounds like a fuel delivery problem. It sounds like, while the pump is turning slowly during cranking fuel slowly seeps into the float chamber. Then the motor catches, and the fuel flow cannot meet the demand; the float chamber empties, and the truck dies.

I would take the fuel line off the carb, disable the ignition, point the line into a bucket (*like a coffee can), and crank the engine. You should get pretty good flow into the can. If the pump is electric a good steady flow, if operated by an eccentric on the camshaft timing gear (that is, the pump is bolted onto the side of the timing chain cover) fuel in healthy spurts.

My first suspicion is a really clogged fuel filter, and my second suspicion is a bad fuel pump. a hole in the fuel line, cracked hose, etc, can allow sucking air, which can seriously impair fuel flow.

Trcuck will not start, cranks but will not start

If it almost starts when you spray into the intake, then it has spark. It sounds like it's time for a fuel pump.

1991 chevy lumina 3.1 liter.problem started it was fine then went 3 blocks and it died stopping at sign.had problems getting it back started and it drive fine for a minute and lost power to like 20 mph but...

It is one of 2 things fuel pump or Crank Shaft Position Sensor. Best bet would be the Crank Shaft Sensor, and what that does is tell the computer where the crank is and when to fire the right plug at the right time
