I'm having the same problem. How do you fix the multifunction switch?

Both lowbeam headlamps will not work. Running lights or headlights. High beams work fine. Both went out at the same time.

First my odometer light went out, then the light on the dash indicating the lights were coming on when the car was started, then proceeded to driver's side light not coming on at all except when put on high beams but even then that lamp was not in "high beam" mode. Mechanic changed bulb, but now auto lights come on initially and then go out -- he suggested going to dealer. Any other suggetions?

Friday evening right headlight wouldn't work, Saturday evening left headlight went out also. I have an appt at the dealership in the morning and will hopefully get to the bottom of the problem.

Most likely the multifunction switch has failed.

S10 1998 high beam problem

If I remember correctly, there is only one bulb on each side for the headlights. Is it possible that you actually have the highbeams set but the highbeam filament in the light is burned out so you're not actually using the highbeam?

No headlights come on but high beams work as well as the other lights the fuses seem to be ok. Please help.

If your highbeams are working fine, you must be referring to your low beams not working I would simply check the 2 bulbs and make sure the low beam filament is good, theres a strong possibility that your BOTH low beam filaments are bad and require replacement of both headlight bulbs to get them working again its a very simple repair.....

AT FUSE TERMINAL #45 TO THE RIGHT OF THE HIGH BEAM RELAY AS YOU ARE LOOKING INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THERE IS A 15 AMP FUSE, PULL IT AND SEE IF IT IS BAD. IF IT IS REPLACE IT. THIS IS THE FUSE FOR THE HIGH BEAM RELAY.

My left headlight highbeam light works and the lowbeam don't why

the filament on the low beam burnt out. but the high beam didn't. You have a filament for each. 1 for high beam and 1 for low beam in the same light bulb. You need a new head light.

Highbeam headlights work but no low beam, it is not the switch........?

Check voltage at the circuit box and test the high/low dimmer switch. Corrosion on a ground wire could also be the problem.

My headlights only work on highbeam.

Yes there is a relay switch that allows the low to high beam switch to occur. It shoud be mounted under the hood along the firewall. Check your manual too!
