Question about 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

I changed the relay for the fuel pump. But it is not getting any current back to the fuel

But it is not getting any current back to the fuel pump.
Where is the oil pressure sending unit located or the fuel pressure sensor located so that I can test these to see if this is where the problem is.
Thanks!
Terri

It turned out to be a broken wire that controlled the relay. The break was hidden under a sleeve with a bunch of other wires. Once that was repaired, the car started.

Now my son is off to college for another year.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it and this site!

THERE IS NO FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR ON THAT CAR. DO YOU HEAR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY CLICK WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY ON AND AGAIN AFTER 3-5 SECONDS? IF NOT CHECK THE FUSE BOX LOCATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ATTATCHED TO THE METAL STRUT. CHECK ALL THE FUSE AND RELAY CONNECTIONS AS THEY TEND TO CORRODE AND LOOSE THEIR CONNECTION ALOT. IS THE CK ENG. LIGHT ON WITH THE KEY IN THE ON POSITION? IF YOU HAVE A 3.1 CHEVY ENGINE THE OIL PRESS. SWITCH IS ABOVE THE OIL FILTER. IF YOU HAVE A 3.8 BUICK ENGINE, THEN THE OIL PRESS. SWITCH IS ON THE PASS SIDE IN THE WHEEL WELL ALMOST BUT AGAIN RIGHT ABOVE THE OIL FILTER. WRITE ME BACK AFTER YOU CHECK THESE OUT

On a Ford F-150 1993 4.9 liter is the fuel pump relay the same as the horn and the other relay there?

a relay is a relay can have 4 or six pins
that and the fact that relays carry different current ratings
most are square boxes about 1" (25mm) square many have the current rating on the top and most are interchangeable on a car provided that the change is equal to or higher amps than that being replaced

Changed fuel pump not pumping fuel not working correctly relay good getting power second fuse for fuel pump not working one wire fuel pump in back getting weal power 97 Saturn sl2

If I understand your post correctly you have a fuse for the fuel pump that is blown or blowing. Until you resolve that issue the fuel pump probably will not get enough power to run. If it blows when you replace it the you have a wiring problem to your fuel pump. Most replacement gm fuel pumps come with a replacement plug for the fuel pump. Make sure you use it if yours did as there have been lots of problems with the wiring plug being damaged due to the high current draw of the fuel pump.

1993 Nissan Pathfinder fuel-pump not getting power despite changing fuses. Problem has happened before & mechanic who repaired that said he just changed fuses & that solved the problem. Please help

If it is blowing fuses, it has not been 'fixed'-the fuel pump is drawing more current than the circuit was designed to handle, pointing to two possiblilties, either a fault in the wiring harness to the pump, or the pump itself is drawing too much current duo to wear possibly overheating due to running the tank low-gas 'cools' the fuel pump so running a tank low is often fatal to a fuel pump, especially an older one. You might try switching the fuel pump relay with one that is not used as much (like an ABS or horn relay) to see if it makes any difference, but you probably will need to plan a fuel pump replacement in the near future.

My 2002 Expedition Doesnt have fuel pressure. Checked and the fuel pump relay is good but not being activated. Checked inertia switch and nothing. What else could it be?

the relay. Try swapping the fuel pump relay with the wiper relay. These are in the engine compartment relay box. If this doesn't help, please get back to me.

I'm not getting gas to the engine. The fuel pump is not getting current. New fuel pump relay. There is good spark at the plugs.

I would check to see if the inertia switch has been tripped. Also check the fuse pump fuse. Are you getting current to the fuel pump relay?

I have a 97 Chevy Express that will not start but the fuel pump tests OK but you cannot hear it. There is no power going to pump. Relay and fuses are good, computer was changed and programmed. The oil and...

The crank sensor is only an impuls unit that gives current to the coil pack.has nothing to do with the fuel system.Try changing the relay if you are getting no power to the pump and only one live connection.

1988 ford truck f-150 xlt lariat cant get current to fuel pump

Have you checked the 'inertia switch' which in the event of an accident shuts off the fuel supply to prevent a fire . It's usually located in the cab on pass. side. Some models have one reset button, some 2 which have to be pressed at the same time. If that's not it, here's how the power to the pump SHOULD work, you will have to follow the path to see where it stops. When you turn the key on it turns on the EEC power relay on, this relay then provides power to the PCM (power control module) and the control side of the fuel pump relay. Power for the fuel pump is supplied through a fuse link or high current fuse attached to the starter solenoid (battery side). From the fuse link or high current fuse current flows thru the fuel pump relay and inertia switch to the fuel pump. The fuel pump relay is controlled by the PCM. When the ignition switch is turned on the fuel pump will operate, if the switch is NOT turned to start position, the PCM will shut off the fuel pump off after 1 second. This is to avoid flooding the engine when it is not running, just key on. So check out to see if you have a fuse link or a high current fuse and if they are blown.

No Power to Fuel pump

I would check the ground for the fuel pump relay that operates the switch side of the relay.
You should have 2 12v inputs to the relay. When the relay gets 12v input, it closes the relay switch on the heavy current side that sends 12v to the fuel pump.

A relay is needed because you don't want heavy current going through the switch.

Also, most cars only run the fuel pump for 2 seconds when the key is turned on because you don't want the fuel pump running without the car running. If you listen closely at the fuel tank, you should hear the pump run for 2 seconds when you turn the key to "ON"
When the key is turned to "START", the fuel pump should run continuously.
The engine computer tells the fuel pump to shut off if the engine rpms are zero.
So, I would check the switch side of the relay. Power amd ground.
