1990 maxima Drivers side window, will power down but won't go back up

Hello my daughter has a 1990 nissan maxima, She put the window down and I cannot get it to go back up. If I push the button down I can hear the motor trying to move the window down, But here nothing when trying to get the window up. I have removed the inside of the door and fisiclly tried to pull up the window but is does not budge. Even removing the bolts to the motor would not let the window move. is there a way I can run a wire to the up side of the motor while depressing the down switch to see if it will go up?

Check you cables that lift the window. The cables are part of the window regulator assembly. If the cables are twisted or frayed and locked up the window will not work.

I replaced all four regulator assemblies ( four doors) on my 1990 maxima.

    The assemblies cost about $100.

    Good Luck.

Check the cable that lifts the window. If the cable is frayed or twisted and stuck the window will not work.

If this is the case the window regulator assembly must be replaced. It contains the bracked and cables that operate the window. It cost about $100.

I replaced all four on my 1990 maxima.

Power window stuck down on passenger side of 97 Nissan Maxima

to get the window up without the motor you will have to take the door panel apart. You will have to take the motor out of the loop to move the mechanism, raise the window and put the locked motor back in to hold it up.

The driver side window of my 2004 Nissan Maxima just slid down in the door panel. I managed to pull it all the way back up. Also, before the window fell when I pushed the switch I could hear the motor...

Your window is probably still on track but the window regulator is shot and will need to be replaced if the glass moves freely and the motor spins without moving the glass.

Hello, the driver's side window will not go up on my 2001 Nissan Maxima. When I push the button for the window to go up I can hear the motor running, trying to push the window up. Thank you. BILL.

either the attachment clips for the rail to glass have broken, or the gearing between the motor and the mechanism has broken. driver door almost always goes first and about 10 year is all you can expect out of any electric motor. get a new regulator, not a used one, and pay a glass store to install it. new regulators can be had at parts stores and on eBay. this will save you hundreds over a dealer. do not waste your time and knuckles attempting it yourself, you do not have the connectors and tools on hand.

I need help iwith my automatic windows they are all stuck and will not roll down

Can you hear the motors working ? Or trying to work ? If you do, have somebody help you press down the window switch then with the door open, HELP the window go down by placing one hand on the inside and the other hand on the outside. If you can't hear the motors check the fuses.
