1990 maxima Drivers side window, will power down but won't go back up

Hello my daughter has a 1990 nissan maxima, She put the window down and I cannot get it to go back up. If I push the button down I can hear the motor trying to move the window down, But here nothing when trying to get the window up. I have removed the inside of the door and fisiclly tried to pull up the window but is does not budge. Even removing the bolts to the motor would not let the window move. is there a way I can run a wire to the up side of the motor while depressing the down switch to see if it will go up?

Check you cables that lift the window. The cables are part of the window regulator assembly. If the cables are twisted or frayed and locked up the window will not work.

I replaced all four regulator assemblies ( four doors) on my 1990 maxima.

    The assemblies cost about $100.

    Good Luck.

Check the cable that lifts the window. If the cable is frayed or twisted and stuck the window will not work.

If this is the case the window regulator assembly must be replaced. It contains the bracked and cables that operate the window. It cost about $100.

I replaced all four on my 1990 maxima.

to get the window up without the motor you will have to take the door panel apart. You will have to take the motor out of the loop to move the mechanism, raise the window and put the locked motor back in to hold it up.

Powerwindow

Take the door panel off. There is a plastic clip on the window channel that holds the glass in place to raise and lower it. If you broke it you will need to replace the part. If the glass jumped off channel just stick it back on.
