Question about 1997 Chevrolet C1500
Engine looses power going up hill, new fuel filter, new fule pump, good gas, new crank sensor, new mass air flow sensor, new 02 sensors, checked all plumbing around intake all connected, Vehicle idles fine, will run smooth on level ground but at first incline engine looses all power can hear popping like backfire thru intake. will slow down to hardly move. sometimes cycling key will help temporarily.
chev techs looked at it at the dealership, want 1600 to take down fuel tank to check out........running out of ideas here
Hi there , sounds to me that one more of the valves is not shutting all the way or the piston rings are wore or broken or the timing chain is wore or loose

How old is the Catalytic Converter, sometimes they will get clogged up and affect performance.
