Altrenator trouble? I have replaced the alternator relay and the battery. Is there anything else that I can check to confirm the alternator is bad?

NO, but you can have the alternator tested at your local auto parts store.

I have a 1990 Chrysler Lebaron Convertable, 3.0l V6 with 64k miles. This past week the "Check Engine" light came on and then the lights started to go dim. Finally the car died. Classic alternator...

Could be just a need to reset the "check engine light", normally this is accomplished when the battery is disconnected for 15 minutes...If your Lebaron is now running smoothly, have the alternator battery tested for free at most auto parts stores for peace of mind. Auto Zone can also read the check engine light code for free. Tight belt, good tensioner pulley, good alternator, you should be in business. Most likely no harm done when the arc occurred.

When I come to a stop the car 2006 Cobalt dies

Sounds like the alternator is not pushing enough amps! Get altrenator tested for a replacement, or maybe just a bad connection!

you possibly have worn contact brushes in altrenator so when motor revs drop the alternator can keep up with power demand also check battery & all batt cables check alternator drive belt

Battery warning light comes on while engine running and car died ans was able to be boosted off, and battery and alternator check out ok. Is it an electrical short?

It definetly could be but I would check the connection to the battery. There is a positive wire that runs from the altrenator to the battery. That wire may not be connected or may be corroded. Clean it really good with a wire brush and look at the quality of the wire. Also clean the battery posts and connections. If the battery and altrenator are good it is probably a bad wire or loose connection

My 1998 Plymouth Voyager started right up today (even though is is cold for Florida - 40 degrees). I drove it one block, stopped at a stop sign and the van died. Only clicks when I turn the key. What could...

Yuo colud have a charging system problem. Either your battery is low or your altrenator is bad. First, check to see if all the belts are in place for the alrtenator. Then, remove the battery cables posts and clean the posts. If those look good, see if your battery has 12 volts. If it doesn't then your altrenator is probably bad. Take it to a local auto parts store that can accomplish a charging system check.

I replaced the altrenator and battery ona 1995 dodge caravan 3.3L V6 ENGINE and drove it 1 time now it wont start it makes a clicking sound wheb i turn the key over what could be the problem

It would be easy to suspect a starter/solenoid problem if not for the history you described. It would be quite a coincidence that this problem is happening after just changing the alternator and battery. I would suspect that the battery is not fully charged. It sounds like there is not enough voltage to operate the starter, but that will be easy enough to determine. I would charge the battery fully and if the vehicle starts, take it to get the alternator output checked at a parts store. If it still won't start and presents the same problem, then check the starter. If the battery is discharged, something has to have caused it. Just because an alternator is "new" doesn't necessarily mean that it's functional. Having the output checked will show how the alternator is performing. Just some thoughts for you to consider. Sorry for your trouble and best wishes.
