Two methods come to mind, I assume the little gas door lever inside the car has broken. Possibly inside the trunk, near the gas inlet protrusion, will be a back-up release cable you can use. Failing that, you are going to have to peel away the trunk insulation around the gas inlet, find where the broken cable pulls the button to open the door and do that manually.

Good Luck

2006 Nissan Elgrand RH slide door interlock

The best way to access the interlock is to remove the sliding door. This can be done by removing the screws that hold the door in place and then lifting the door off the track. Once the door is removed, you should be able to access the interlock and determine what is causing the issue. If the interlock is damaged, you may need to replace it.

Volvo 1994 850 wagon. The gas cap door will not open when the car is unlocked. Is there a way to manually release the door so we can put gas in? Any repair ideas?

Inside the cargo area just about where the door is on the outside there is a manual release. It is a little plastic handle on a tiny metal cable.

Removing a non locking broadway schlage door lever handle. Unscrewed tiny screw to remove handles but can't figure out how to remove the rest of it from the door. I don't see any screws and can't pull it...

Hi there,

There will be two screws under the decorative cover plate. This cover plate is usually removed with simply pry away from the door slab. Just remember the cover plate is thin, so your pry only need to just be under it, not the actual handle body.

2008 Toyota Camry gas-cap door release is stuck; how do you release it?

Hi fellow,
Your problem has two options ;first, you have to inspect the interior wire that pulls the lock of the gas cap.If found cut you should replace it at the mechanic's. Secondly, once the wire remains uncut or undamaged by any reason, the lock itself might be jammed due to the rust or misuse. Therefore, you are advised to use some anti rust liquid it wil work. Good Luck.

Hyundai error report P0441 when check engine light comes on. Is this something covered under warranty at dealer, or should I have an independent mechanic look at it? Also, door latch that opens the gas...

yes this is a warranty item as it relates to the emission purge system ( pressure test for gas tank ). but before you go make sure your gas cap is tight (3 clicks) sometimes after getting fuel a loose gas cap will trip the purge solenoid valve to think there is a leak.

I am having difficulty opening the cover to the gas cap. The switch on the drivers side door won't release the external door so that I can remove the gas cap and fill my tank. HELP

The cable release for the gas door may have broken, try reading the Owner's Manual for a alternative way to release the door or call your local Volkswagen Dealer and ask to speak to someone in the Body Shop or a Service Technician to give you a solution.

I opened my gas cap and now it just wont close

The gas cap or the gas cover?

If the cap wont go back on then I don't know whats going on there.

If you mean the COVER or fuel door, then I would say your cable release is gummed up and sticking. Get some WD and spray the latching point on the car and then push the door in and let it spring back a couple times..spray again and repeat.....do this until the door stays shut. Then the next time you are getting an oil change get the station mechanic to spray the latch with some white lithium or other approved lubricant.

good luck and be careful.

Gas Cap

There is a lock inside there, but it should only be actuated when you've locked your doors. By pushing the lock button on your key fob it locks your doors, rear hatch and your gas cap cover. Once you push the unlock button the lock inside will retract back allowing you to push on the cover. If you do have your doors unlocked, then it could be either the lock is not retracting as it should or the metal clip that the lock contacts with when in the out position may be bent out of shape and still in contact with the lock when the lock is retracted.

there should be a leaver by driver seat to release if you mean the fuel door if you mean locking cap then a screewdriver with a little force will remove the cap then you will need to replace with new cap

Procedure for removing door panel on passenger side 1994 camry

Sure.

Pull off the triangle thing.
On the door, at the front edge, there should be 2 plastic caps. Remove them. Under the caps there are screws. Remove them.
On the rear of the door panel, above the latch, are 2 round things, with a smaller round thing in the middle. Press on the inner round thing, and pull the pin assemblys out.
Do you have a light on the door panel at the bottom? If so, pry it out with a small screwdriver (it's just a "press-fit"), and remove the wire connector.
Under the arm-rest, remove the big phillips screw that is hidden, about an inch back from the outer edge of the panel. You will see the hole.
Under the arm rest, remove the tiny plastic trim cover, remove another big phillips screw.
Remove the door handle: Remove the phillips screw. Slide the handle forward or backward to release it from the door metal. Undo the clamp from the lock rod to the handle.
Remove any screws at the very bottom of the panel, if there are any.
Starting at the bottom of the panel. pull straight out, to defeat the plastic clamps tht holds the panel to the door metal. Once the panel is loose, pull it up a bit to remove it from the window opening retainer. Finally, inside the panel, unplug the wiring harness to the window switch assembly.

If you need any more info, please comment back. And, Thanks for the FIxYa.
