How to reset security in 2001 yukon?

Its a 30 minute process.
Turn the ignition from off to on
Attempt to start the vehicle then relese the key to the on position for 10 minutes until or until the security light goes off.
Turn of the ignition wait 5 seconds and and repeat the above steps 2 more times, After the third time make sure the ignition is in the off position for at least 5 seconds then attempt to start the truck.
It takes awhile i had the same problem with my 2002 astro and just a note sometimes this procedure doesnt work the first time its a real pain

There is another option that requires a scan tool

If you are referring to the Passlock immobilizer, here is the relearn process.

PASSLOCK 10 MINUTE RELEARN

Time required, approximately 10 minutes:

1. Insure that the battery is fully charged.
2. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition switch from the OFF position to the CRANK position attempting to start the vehicle. The vehicle will start and then stall.
4. Leave the ignition switch in the ON position while observing the security indicator.
5. When the security indicator turns off, which can take up to 10 minutes, turn the ignition switch off. Wait 10 seconds.
6. The BCM and the PCM will learn the new code on the next start attempt.

You have to do a relearn procedure on the anti-theft system:

Attempt to start the vehicle. Leave the ignition on until the THEFT SYSTEM indicator turns off (about 10 minutes). Turn the ignition switch off. Leave the ignition switch off with key in for about 10 minutes. Attempt to start vehicle.

Today, my 2000 Saturn SL stalled after only idling for a minute or so. When I went to restart it, it turned over but wouldn't start. Eventually it wouldn't even turn over and I could hear a small tick,...

Hi, this is not an alternator problem. The problem could be lack of fuel or an ignition problem. If you could get a scan of the OBD II connector and send us the trouble code, that would help us diagnose the problem. Otherwise, you will be jumping the car to run some troubleshooting steps. You can find the standard steps here: http://www.fixya.com/cars/t7608458-96_jeep_grand_cherokke_cranks_but
Please let me know if you have questions.

1995 chevy cavalier passlock reset

Here is how to do the relearn. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON, vehicle will not start. Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds. Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes, the vehicle is nowready to relearn the PasslockTM Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.
Important: The vehicle learns the PasslockTM Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle. Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the PasslockTM Sensor Data Code and/or password.
Thank you for using Fixya and just take you time and follow the instructions above. Good luck
