well vehicle is shifting very well but I am getting p1529, p0734

  • mldamr Oct 11, 2008

Hi. I have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM RIGHT NOW.
When I am driving, the engine will give a thud and then it will drop automatically to the 3rd gear with my KIA 2001 Magentis. Found same Codes P0715 and P1529. Chk eng light comes on after small Lugging or kick in trans, or slight "thump" sound as it was down shifting or probably engin miss fire, I don't know. It passed Air Care when chkEng Light was out however.

ChkEng light goes off after a few days and comes back on again.

I have flushed the Trans and my mechanic clears the code every once in a while.

My wife's 2002 Hyundai Accent has developed the same p0734 code. I have researched this issue for weeks. Tried doing a soft drain of the black-burnt fluid until it finally drained red then changed oil filter. Have narrowed down exactly what is happenning. First off, it shifts fine all gears, up and down until transmission fluid heats up-about 10-15 miles. Actually it ran even further the last time-30 miles until I got on the interstate and hit 55. I was manully able to run by turning OD off and soft pedalling the gas when turning OD on. The problem may begin, after the fluid is hot I think when you kick the gas in overdrive or at the high speed the 4th gear can keep up the speed ratio, it can't take it over 50 at all. The car lurches and goes into safe 3rd gear mode with these issues. When I finally took the pan off, I found most all of the peices of a skinny ring about 1-1-1/1 inch diameter. This in itself may be the kiss of death but I think once the fluid burnt and parts started breakng down, a transmission replace is enevitable. I believe and correct me if I'm wrong, overheating of the fluid caused
the transmission breakdown. When I dropped the pan the fluid a drip burned my face but....the transmission cooler in front of the radiator was absolutely cold. Is this normal or is the cooler blocked up??? Or is there a circulator in the trans that broke and that is what the peices are from. I believe the broken pieces are from a pump part or bearng cover(4th)? Hyundai I found has the cheapest price for a trans now, around &1,250 as opposed to nearly $2,000 from Advance Auto. Hynudai insists you use THEIR fluid only so don't ever tell them you didn't, even though Valvoline is just find. Read you Warranties very careful these days. It is possible I read to take a top cover off the trans if you are a mechanic or ya know what your doing and can identify broken piece, maybe replace it. Otherwise...Well good luck. Hopefull the newer transmissions are better or we learn to take better care of our car's maintenance. They need health checkups just like us.
Don't forget, if the fluid is black, have someone flush the fluid cooler good or you will contaminate the new transmission.
Hope this helps.

What are Fault codes P0441 + P0704 On my 05 Plate Octavia VRS?

Code P0441 seems to relate to the EVAP Emission Control System. Either there is a blockage or a leak in one of the valves (N80 or N115) or the pipes between throttle body and tank breather are broken.
Code P0704 seems to be a faulty clutch pedal position switch

P0701 and p0704

Unfortunately the 0700 series of numbers relate to the transmission. Code ( P0701) is pushed by 1- Open or short transmission control system circuit. 2 - Poor transmission control system electrical connection. 3 - Check powers and grounds to Transmission Control Module (TCM). Code P0704 is pushed by 1- Faulty Clutch Switch.
2 - Misadjusted Clutch Switch. 3 - Clutch Switch harness is open or shorted. 3 - Clutch Switch circuit poor electrical connection. 4 - Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM). But I'm guessing you have an automatic trans. right. If so I would look at the (DTR) digital transmission range sensor.

P1529 p0732

code p1529 refers to transmission control module-communication===causes --wiring-TCM and ECM
code p0723 refers to output shaft speed sensor (OSS)-circuit intermittent==causes--wiring--poor connection--OSS sensor --ECM /TCM
n both codes the TCM shows and the wiring may be a loose /dirty connection at the gear box level

What is code p0704 means on my Chevy 2001

Clutch Pedal Position Switch is not working properly. What it does it sends signal to your engine at different pedal angles so the engine calculates values to be assigned to different systems.

P1529 Hyundai elantra 2001

Hi there:
First there is a problem with the TCM and the other codes code be false codes related to a bad TCM. All the codes are electrical codes and can be fixed without rebuilding the tranns.
Ok P1529 is for a TCM (transmission control module) error. DTC P1529 TCM error - Invalid message which could be the problem for everything.
The TCM is the computer that controls all the functions of the transmission. Just like the computer that controls the engine there is one for the transmission also. Here is the location...

clutch switch input circuit malfunction
have no idea what this is sorry ,but i would hazard a guess and say that the front clutch operating solonoid is playing up and i think this may involve taking the gearbox out to repair it ,sorry about taking so long for a code but that AVG antivirus does horrible things to my programs .
