It must be stuck. First of all soak it with a wd40 or a similar product every 5 min 5 times. Then try to press it in and out few times. Also when you change the pads be sure to use a cuprum based grease to avoid the pads sticking to the caliper.

My 1994 ford ranger when braking pulls slightly to the right but when I got home the left side was smoking

If the vehicle 'pulls' to the left or right it usually means one of the brake calipers isn't working correctly. It usually pulls to the side that is working better. So pulling to the right means you have a problem with your Left side brake calliper.
Does the smoke stink? Yes? The smoking could be the brake pads rubbing on the brake disc. The brake caliper piston might be stuck so it isn't letting the pad move away from disc.
You will need the brakes and calipers stripped and cleaned to find out why they are causing problems. A good mechanic will have all the specialist tool that might be needed for this job.

Why do my right rear brake on my 2009 dodge journey wear out twice as fast as the left rear?

The problem with the rear brake is most likely with the caliper assembly. The one that is wearing out too fast is probably dragging too much (not releasing properly). I would recommend replacement of that caliper assembly. As far as the "grinding" goes, if you are referring to a noise that occurs when you push the steering wheel into the stops and hold it there, then yes, any kind of squeal or grind in that condition is normal. If is does it when actually driving and just turning right or left more that a few degrees, then there may be issues in the power steering pump or rack assembly.

My brakes are scrubbing and antilock light comes on, also when ever i back up, my front left wheel makes a very loud noise. kind of like rubbing metal. whats wrong?

the noise is probably the ware sensors on the brake pads making noise the noise lets you know that the brakes are getting thin are are ready to be replaced.if you let this go to long you can damage the brake rotors, make sure you check to make sure the caliper is not sticking on the left side being this side is making more noise ,a stuck caliper can cause premature brake pads ware .

04 xjr rear left side wheel rubbing as it rotates. heavy brake dust, but squeakng occurs without engaging breaks. Drivetrain issue?

Rubbing what? If there is heavy brake dust you more likely have worn out brake pads or damaged calipers and/or rotors. First step is to determine exactly what is rubbing and where.

Rear brakes not completely disengaging

your inside pad wore out first do to a bad caliper or frozen slide or brake hose.remove brake hose off the caliper and see if you can turn the wheel.if you can replace hose and bleed caliper.if wheel still doesn't move buy a loaded caliper, this will come also with new slides!and then bleed

Rotor, Caliper and Pads

it is best to replace both sides to prevent a pulling problem when you brake, but you can replace just one side.

2002 GMC Sierra 1500 rear brakes

Hi joelalthomas, if they replaced your brakes and you never even made it home they had better warranty the work and as for the "it was a common problem on 2002-2004 trucks" well check for Chevy recalls as this is a safety issue that would have been corrected at no expense to the vehicle owner, do a little more research my friend and let me know what happens, I will check around a little as well in the meantime I would find a new garage.Do not pay any more as you said your brakes worked fine until they worked on it good luck to you As for your 4x4 did you look at the left side when you did the right side? and were they bled off properly? you can visually check to see if the calipers are functioning
