I have a 1994 G20 van with a 5 liter engine. The engine was running last year like it had a fouled plug. Sluggish, louder muffler noise. I changed the cap and rotor then. This has usually fixed the problem. Not this time though. i then put in new plugs and wires. No help. I have checked all wires repeatedly. No grounding. This weekend I changed the electronic coil to the distributor. No change. Sometimes the engine runs good, like this morning when I first started it. It ran fine on the road for about ten minutes then went back to its lack of power and acting like it has a bad plug. Any suggestions?

Try an oxegen sensor . the are not very expensive and they need changed at regular intervals.

1994 G20 conversion van. 6 cylinder. Engine running in park. When I apply brake. Engine quits then van will not restart.

Check vacuum lines.
There is a large one on the power brake booster that goes to the back on the fuel system. Make sure you have vacuum before you try anything else.
A vacuum leak will cause you to stall out.

I have a 1994 Chevy C1500 w/ 4.3 liter and my plugs are fouling out about every 500 miles or less and everything else maintanence wise I've replaced resently. Can someone give an idea on what need

Does the truck run right? Does it smell real gassy, fuel mileage go south? If it is fouling plugs that fast it either has to be burning a lot of fuel or oil. Is there a check engine light on? Engine wore out, burning a lot of oil. Fuel injector stuck, using a lot of gas. Air filter dirty, making it burn way rich. I would think this truck would really smell bad if it is fouling out the plugs that fast.

Hi, I have a 1986 Chevy Van G20, V8, 5 Liter, 4 barrel carb. I cannot start the van, (all of a sudden it happened). It has a freshly charged battery, new starter, new fuel pump, new fuel filter, and has...

If it is getting spark and fuel check the timing. The timing chain may have jumped.Take out #1 spark plug and tap engine till the compression stroke comes up. To check just hold your finger over the plug hole and the compression will blow it out. Then rock crank by hand and set to top dead center. Take distributer cap off and see if rotor faces #1 cylinder. If you have spark to the plugs and the plugs are good and you have fuel timing or compression is all that is left.

1994 pontiac transport se sluggish running

Ck your exhaust pipe at rear of car noting any obnoxious smell like rottrn eggs. Hold a piece of paper, I use a dollar bill ,in in front of the exhaust. If it blows the paper gently, you have a catalyctic converter going or is bad. Will need replace if so.

I have an 89 G20 sports van with a 5.7 Fuel injected Changed the plugs recently....gaped them a .35...soon after the motor began skipping.....more of a hiccup at higher speeds and after it's warmed...

i know changing the plugs in a van can be hard, sometimes when you have hard too reach spots aplug can get bumped, or cracked damgeging the plug or resetting your gap too zero,if this just started after you changed plugs i would check here first.

Loud noise (like a motorcycle) coming from 1994 Nissan Murano

check your exhaust system and your muffler. a noisy fuel pump doesn't make sense, especially because a new one didn't change anything. if your muffler even has a tiny hole in it, it would make immense amounts of noise. the fastest way to check it (and you have to be very careful here) is to cover the exhaust pipe entirely with your hand RIGHT after starting the car (so it's still cold) if your hand is pushed off by a lot of force building up, then your exhaust is fine, if your hand can stay there with no resistance, and the noise gets louder, there is a leak in the exhaust system
