Sounds like a weak battery and/or bad connection. Have your battery and charging system tested.
If it starts pretty good after driving for a while , but not after sitting all night, I'd be looking real close at battery, and a possible excessive current draw while sitting. Shouldn't take anymore than 1/2hr. to do all those tests, then your sure. The battery is drawing down real low trying to start, and taking current away from clock temporarily, thus causing clock to lose memory.

The clock resets because the car battery voltage/current is so low that when the starter motor is turned the + 12 drops to less than 8 volts and so the CLOCK resets.
Please have the battery checked, check the starter motor , battery terminals must be tight.

When you try to start the car it will click then start and the clock will reset to 12:00

The battery can be too LOW and so it seems that the car is starting with a lot of strain . The starter motor is not getting the required voltage/current to start with ease. So check the charge on the battery, recharge the battery and check.

1997 pontiac grand prix when key is turn to start it;s just clicks, it will not start, i try to bost with other car no help.

This sounds like a bad starter, i would remove the battery and have it tested, if the battery tests good and fully charged then i would replace the starter, it sounds like a dead spot. a quick test is to have someone hold the key in the start postion and you hit starter with a hammer or metal rod and see if it starts, sometimes it will, this means starter is bad, hope this helps.

2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine wont start when key is turned on. here a click when key is turned but that is it. battery has a charge. could this be a relay problem

Remove battery connections and clean them, or try twisting cables. The clicking is the solenoid kicking in. Your likely not getting enough power there to engage the starter. Other wise, your starter is probably bad, you can try tapping it with a hammer or what ever else you can hit it with. Don't try to kill it. If it starts after hitting it, its definitely the starter motor. Start with the connections tho.

94 Jeep Grand Cherokee diagram panel flashes on the "miles to service" message, clock won't stay set. I suspect that at some point my husband disconnected the battery, and the system needs to be reset -...

there are two buttons on the diagram panel screen, push and hold top button and a one of the entries will start to blink, then you use the bottom button to change the entry, when you are ready to move to the next entry push the top button again.
