Sounds like a weak battery and/or bad connection. Have your battery and charging system tested.
If it starts pretty good after driving for a while , but not after sitting all night, I'd be looking real close at battery, and a possible excessive current draw while sitting. Shouldn't take anymore than 1/2hr. to do all those tests, then your sure. The battery is drawing down real low trying to start, and taking current away from clock temporarily, thus causing clock to lose memory.
The clock resets because the car battery voltage/current is so low that when the starter motor is turned the + 12 drops to less than 8 volts and so the CLOCK resets.
Please have the battery checked, check the starter motor , battery terminals must be tight.
