Question about 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis
It isnt easy!,the whole unit is peened,and factory assembled,it's built to be non-servicable,get another unit from a junk yard,I have fixed many,and it's a LOT of work!!.
in your case it may be simple as replacing the "drive shaft"(it has a worm gear on it).
