I cannot find where the fuse is to change for my ciggarete lighter in my 1999 sl1 saturn. Thank you.

It is likely you burned the lighter fuse, which may have also been powering the pcm memory module. Find and replace the lighter fuse using your manual. Note, the car may run a little rough if the pcm has to relearn the sensor calibration facrtors. This will clear up in a day or so, if it happens. If your lighter fuse is less that 20 amps, try not to plug in any large accessories, like inverters or compressors.

You can check for voltage at the lighter socket with volt meter. Have you tried a new lighter element ,they do go bad.

Check the fuse for the cigarette lighter, replace with same value. Fuse box is either in the glove box, under the driver side dash or left side dash with driver door open.

I think it is called the charging socket and not lighter. it should be fuse #39 in the diagram.

LOCKS fuse 20A minifuse. If you have power door locks and they are working the fuse is ok.It might read DRL 20 amp. You can take a 12 volt test light and plug the one end to ground and test both sides of that fuse while it is plugged in and the both ends will light if the fuse is good.

Your owners manual should be able to help you there; however, check you cigarette lighter and anything else that doesn't seem to be working at the time of this event. If the lighter is at fault, it will need to be replaced.

It may not be a fuse issue. You could have a bad socket connection. Pull the wire from the back of the lighter socket to see if you have power there. If you do, then the socket is bad.

Fuse is in the passenger side kick panel fuse box. Look at the inside of the kick panel for exact location

Take a look there

the plug that you insert the lighter in to is bad but i do think there might be a inline fuses, follow the wires from the plug under the dash, if that's not it then your plug is bad
