I used to hear this in about every car I have owned; the oil cushion isn't there for the first few seconds allowing a little more clearance than is present after the oil pressure is where it belongs.
As an experiment many years ago, I started using a molybdenum disulphide additive and have not ever heard it in another vehicle after adding the moly.

In some cars, it will actually improve fuel economy and power, - slightly.
For certain, it improves durability as even in small, high revving 4 bangers, it can extend the life of bearings and rings by (I'm not joking) by 50-60%.

I don't sell it, own no stock in any company marketing the stuff but have had a lifetime supply of the dry powder for 20+ years and have put some form of it in every crankcase of every car I have owned since 1968, adding a tablespoon with each oil change.
It has characteristics that no other additive can claim and the German military uses it as a matter of course.

One test I have read involved a high-mileage Ford V8 that had a commerically available moly additive added to the oil, driven for a under an hour to mix and circulate it through the engine.
The crankcase was then drained of all oil and the car was driven at speed around a track for over 100 miles before the engine finally seized.

My 2000 Nissan Maxima does some grinding noise after about driving a few blocksbut if its on jack stands with no pressure it doesn't make noise

If it's not your rotors and you've had it checked out already (because you always want to start with the cheapest option first), then it's probably going to be your bearings. One other check you can do is on your control arm ball joints. If they're shot, it'll make noise and when you take the weight off of it, the noise will go away. You can spray some silicone lube and test drive it to see if it quiets the noise if that's the problem though.

My wife has a Peugot 307 petrol engine. When pulling off from cold, there is a grinding / grating noise. It only occurs when the car is moving and lasts 1 to 2 minutes. Dip the clutch and the noise...

Sticking clutch throw-out bearing arm or linkage/cable, or pedal, so that throw-out bearing is just barely and intermittently touching the throw-out plate of the clutch. Depressing the pedal slightly engages the bearing to the plate causing positive drive of the bearing, quieting the noise. After running a while, the bearing moves sufficient distance to disengage. Next time it happens, with the vehicle stopped, in neutral and with the parking brake set, stick your toes under the clutch pedal and pull it back, see if the noise stops or changes..

Take the vehicle for diagnosis. this could be the same as a nocking sound no matter how you service your vehicle. It might be over working.

The one thing you did not mention that I needed to do to remove the Hum was 4 wheel alignment. Smooth and quiet now. Hope that helps and have a great day.

Squelling belt

Yes, it could be.
The fact that it quiets might mean that the internal seals are leaky allowing water to enter bearing surfaces that dry, then squeal.

Look for any traces of the water pump starting to drool; there is a hole (normally underneath) that allows water to drain if the seals fail.

Front wheel bearing/break

Could be a wheel bearing that is starting to have trouble - you won't always hear it right as soon as it starts to fail. If it is a wheel bearing though, very soon you'll start to notice a rumbling noise.
