Putting spearkers in and had ignition on. cut through wires while ignition was on! spearkers work but both my windows dont go up or down! no power to them. Allso interior light does not come on! While truck is running the window switches are still lite up! but don't make a sound while pushing them! I checked all the wire color cordination and i matched all them up right! I checked all my clear through fuses and non of them are popped? can a relay go out? Please help me

Unfortunately there are dozens of possible root causes for your problem. You can check fuses, especially the power windows.

Given the vehicle age, the ignition switch would be suspect. How worn out is your key?

Try this... with car not running, put key in ignition, press and hold driver window up , rotate key from OFF to ON. Did you hear the window motor? If your car sits in a garage try same by holding window down and see if by moving (rotating) key you can find a key position where windows operate.

If you find a key position where windows work, you'll need a new ignition switch. I do not recommend you drive the car if you find key position that works as it could cut out any time, place, or speed.

i just replace my GEM module and still no windows and dome light still flickers

Check the wires on the driver's door between the door and the post. A break in a wire will affect the passenger side.

The power window switches are most likely your problem. This is very common in the GM trucks. Hope this helps, TJ

first make sure battery isn't dead because if he cut it off in gear then the switch couldn't cut the power off and it'll run the battery down and there is a electrical solenoid that allows the shifter to move if theres no voltage than the shifter want go into park and the ignition switch want turn off.

You may need a new steering column or your ignition lock cylinder might be bad

Try replacing the fusible links down by the starter. There are 2 and they look like a round rubber plug. Cut them out and splice the wires together. If they aren't there check the wire splices for corrosion. Use shrink tubeto cover the splices. Hope this helps.

Not an expert, but I expereinced a similar problem in my 1991 Econoline and it was the voltage regulator.

I have the same problem with my 96 camaro. I checked the fuses box and the radio, windows and IP dimmer fuses don't have power. More likely is a short in the motor of one of the windows.

you can disconect the plug from window motor and the rest of the windows will still work... you can cut the wires if you want to but tape the ends so they dont short out or you will have other problems..
