Question about 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan

ROUGH IDLE I bought this van with 99640 miles on it. Currently, I have 202870 miles on it and it runs great. Well, almost great. All of the work on this van was done by me. I replaced water pump, timing belt and idler for it around 140000 miles (05/2005), cylinder heads around 179000 miles (04/2007). Now, for almost three months, van has a rough idle. First, I changed cables, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor. Nothing changed. Then, check engine light turned ON with P300 & P304 MIL codes. I took van to PAT and they could not find any problem. They checked pressure on 2-4-6 and everything was OK. They could not check 1-3-5 cylinders (?!?!??) because they are "hard to reach". (but it was not hard for them to take 140 dollars from me.) I, also replaced EGR valve and Upper O2 sensor and finally all of the injectors (last week). And nothing changed. As I said before, van drives good, has vibration on front wheels but that is "normal". Van makes 22 mpg @ 65MPH (70% highway - 30% city) which is not bad at all. In the morning, when I open the door, cabin front lights starts flickering. Do not know if this might be related. Can anyone has an idea what could cause this?

    To scheck:
Cables, spark plugs, distributor, rotor and ignition coil are brand new.
    To techrich:
Checked for air leakage. No leaks at all. This morning there was no flickering on front head cabin lights. (!?) However, rough idle is still present ...
    To greasedog:
PAT guys told me that cylinder #4 had a rich mixture, others were fine. Where is fuel pressure valve located?

2000 Expedition is idling badly and stalling.

Have you changed your fuel filter? When is the last time you changed your sparkplugs? Have you had any codes on the computer? Heres what I would do. First change your sparkplugs. This is a 4-6 hour job. You have to unbolt the cop(coil on plug assembly). After you change the plugs your truck will run rough. Drive it around the block then back to your house. It will take 3-5 restarts before your truck quits running rough. Reason for this is because your computer is trying to "relearn" the firing order. I have done this several times so i know what i am talking about. You can even look it up. Your 2000 expedition is a dang good truck with a great engine. After your computer relearns the firing order then the rough idle will be gone. Then I would take it out on the freeway and run it hard for 5-10 miles. If you experience a miss or two then that means you need a new cop(s). Get a code reader and it will tell you which cop is bad. Cops are expensive. I bought 6 new ones on ebay for $40. If you buy from autozone or ford dealer then you are looking at about 80-100 bucks a piece. Tell me if this helps. Ford makes a good truck and the expedition is a great truck. Mine is a 2000 expedition also. I have 248,000 miles on it and running strong with no burning oil. Good luck.

Runs rough idle

your idle valve may be dirty or needs replacing would check this as it controls idle. sits on the intake with wires coming out of it.

Hi Ronald, take the vehicle for a diagnostic read out. Seems you have a problem with a temperature sensor or the cold start up idle. Regards John

My Grand Voyager 3.3L is running really rough at the moment. For the past several months my gas mileage has dropped drastically. I have done a tune up (replacing the air filter, wires, plugs, fuel filter),...

POSSIBLE CAUSES COULD BE WATER IN GAS,FAULTY IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE, OR FUEL PUMP COULD BE FAILING.CODE SCAN FOR EGR VALVE FAULT OR INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR.

1994 camry 4cyl. was running great. drove it to work and shut it off, then went to start it back up and it shut right off, wont idle. I can keep it running by keeping my foot on gas and its not running...

have your idle control switch check, easy and inexpensive to replace. The idle control switch is what keep the engine stay idle. also have your throttle body clean by a professional having that many miles, it will give you better gas mileage.

Chevy 350 express van 2000 runs great idles rough

If it does not do it in park or neutral, it could be a number of things. One being a sticking Torque Converter Clutch solenoid (TCC). It could be that it needs a simple tune-up. How often does this problem happen?
