Check the iginition switch properly.

Check all of the battery terminals and cables and check the wires on the starter/selonoid, start from the battery and follow the cable out and check all conections , clean and tighten them and if it still does it the starter/selonoid is bad and needs replacement...

My buick park avenue will not start because of my security system

You have the VATS system. Do you think the problem is with the key or ignition switch? Did it used to work occasionally and then quit? If yes, the solution at http://vats.likeabigdog.com/ will probably fix your problem. I have installed this fix successfully in the past. If you have more questions, please reply.

Where is the EGR valve on a 1991 Buick Park Avenue 3.8 ? It is not on the intake manifold on the '91.

Here is the steps to remove and replace it with a hint of where it is...

Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the decorative cover from the top of the valve.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector at the solenoid.
  4. Remove the 2 base-to-flange bolts.
  5. Remove the digital egr valve and discard the gasket.
To install:
  1. Clean the mating surfaces of the egr valve and its mounting surface.
  2. Install a new gasket and the digital egr valve.
  3. Install the 2 base-to-flange bolts. Tighten to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
  4. Connect the electrical connector and install the decorative cover.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable and check the system for proper operation.
If you have a VIN "L" in your VIN number, you do not have an EGR valve.

Otherwise, it should be towards the front of the motor...in the diagram it is labeled #11. To post it bigger, I would have to email it to you...it is too large to post at LARGE view here.

I have a 1992 Buick Park avenue with a bad neutral safety switch, where is it, can I replace it without much difficulty? Thanks

Sits on driver side under the hood on top of transmission, held on by two 13mm bolt's, disconnect both harness and the long singal wire run's to the starter solenoid. Not to bad of a job to do, you can do it,Good luck.
