The starter has power only if the battery is good. The ignition coil gives the engine spark.

I have a 94 Nissan hard body cab in a half 4x4 3000 v6 I took the dust cap off and turned the motor to get at the rotor screw did I screw up by doing this

Do you mean you removed the distributor cap to work on the rotor inside the distributor? If you did not remove or loosen the distributor hold down bolt, you have done nothing that will affect spark timing or distribution. The distributor cap only fits on one way, so once you have replaced it and fastened it back down, your engine should run OK (if it was running OK before you removed the cap).

94 mazda mpv has major power drain when trying to start.will not turn over. When 15 amp ENGINE fuse is removed. motor turns over but no spark?

Remove the spark plugs and turn it over to expel excessive fuel. Replace the spark plugs. Remove and have the starter checked.

My 94 ford exployer eddie bauer will not start i chad battery check thats good i cant even start it with a jump

If the car turns over at all then you may be looking at a fuel or spark supply problem, the engine may not be getting fuel to start or may not be getting any spark from the spark plugs. If when you turn the key the engine does not turn over and there is no noise then it is most likely that your starter has stopped working.

I have a 2002 ford explorer eddie baur and it does not start. Its not the starter,It's not the battery or cables, you can hear the starter trying but the motor will not start. There was nothing wrong with...

OK....I know you say not the starter or the battery.....but to confirm, do the headlights dim when you try to start it....I am assuming not.....which means battery is ok.....then if you can gain access, are you able to LIGHTLY tap the starter with a hammer or something of that nature (why >?????) the starter motor there are 2 is the throw out circuit which is used by the starter solenoid to throw out the ring gear towards and in contact with the flywheel, the second circuit turns the starter motor.....this second circuit is operated by 2 heavy duty contacts that over time can wear and pit, like any electrical relay hitting it, you are loosening the black (carbpn) buildup to enusre a clean contact to start the car......this happens alot with stop-start driving......

94 ford explorer, starter won't turn

If you have the proper voltage at the starter, (battery voltage) and the starter won't turn, it is the starter or the engine. Try turning the engine over with a wrench on the harmonic balancer.
