Sluggish accelleration

If the check engine light is on, it could be one of several different sensors.
Otherwise, I would want to know what base fuel pressure is to start with. And has the fuel filter been replaced in the past couple of years ?

Sluggish acceleration, frequent jerking and engine knock at high RPM

Sounds to me like the timing is off! it COULD be bad gas though! run that tank through, and refill, then see how it feels!

Put accelerator down and you go nowhere, has no power at all.

is the check engine light on ! its possible that the convertor is plugged up. if it is plugged the engine will be very sluggish. A converter that is damaged can cause the engine to not function properly. For example, the engine struggles when going up inclines, it hesitates when you try to accelerate or you experience a noticeable drop in fuel economy. If a tank of gas is not taking you as far as it used to, then it may be time to have the catalytic converter looked at. does it smell like rotten eggs. if so the convertor needs attention. Diagnose any and all diagnostic trouble codes before replacing a catalytic converter to preserve and enhance its performance and effectiveness.

Have the exhaust system back pressure checked, you may have a catalytic converter that is coming apart, this would cause the rattle and a loss of power on acceleration.

Hi
Check engine codes could be map sensor or 02 sensor.
Check for vacuum leak at map sensor, causes high fuel consumption.

Accelerating

once you change fuel octane it may run sluggish because the car is used to running at a better octane to run more efficient. go back to 93 and see if that may change it back to normal (note that it may take your car a few runs to get back to normal)
