Hi, I got my bumper "fixed" by a repairman in the street. It was completely broken, but I was pretty amazed by how the repairman got it smoothed. But now the paint is off and i'd like to find the same "shiny black" paint, any idea how i can find that?
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Hey John, not a bad start ,your on the right track there are special fillers for over the plastic you can buy that stay flexable most regular body fillers are not flexable, do a search for plastic bumper repair kits and im sure you will find one and there not very costly, and there is a rubberized primer for the bumper so paint will stick and not peal off you can get that at most part stores.
·It's an easy one to do. You can chose a bumper that you can paint or choose a chrome one that I have in the picture then it saves you from painting. The bumper valance is a Street Scene brand that is painted to match the rest of the body. The valance comes in a black color out of the box which you may put on the truck without painting., there are other more aggressive looking ones out there however I select the one pictured.. Since I have a 4x4, I removed the front tow hooks so the valance can fit and connected new fog lights using the existing factory switch.
Any independent VW repair shop for lower repair cost compared to a dealer. They will order the part for you and install it. If painting is involved, you'll need to bring it to a body shop so the can color match the pait to the part, this doesn't necessarily be a specific VW auto-body shop but it might speed things up since they have more resources for part hunting.
of the Molding
Take the Molding Trim whether it is
stock black or painted. Mine is black because my car is a year 2000.
Painted side moldings were done in the year 2001. Snap them into
place. 5 Installation
of the Rubber Gaskets
From the stock bumper, retrieve the upper
rubber gaskets unless you ordered new ones. Simply take a screw
driver and pry a corner off to get you started. Wash thoroughly.
NOTE which one belongs on which side.
Place the rubber gasket on the M5 Front Bumper onto
its appropriate side. Top
The M5 Bumper is now Fully Assembled!!!
Place aside where it can't be damaged.
Depends on whether it is broken cracked or just scuffed. Repaint of the scuffed cover between $200 and $300. If cracked or broken a good used bumper is about $150 buy you usually have to paint and install. The total cost could add up to $500.00
If you are lucky to find a good one you do not need to paint in your color it is about 1 hour labor to replace.
