2000 Celica making grinding noice from right front wheel.

2000 Celica making grinding noise from right front wheel. Sounds like bearings or something. I took the wheel off and the rotor and caliper shakes. The other side didn’t and the faster the louder the noise. The only thing I can think of is a ball bearing assembly; I know nothing else about it. I need to know what to replace. I can’t find a repair book for a 2000 Celica any ware. I can find for 1999 and earlier but not 2000.

Are there special tools involved and can a average shade tree person replace this.

I have the same exact problem. Just had my front right wheel bearing replaced in my 2000 celica. Was there a recall on that part?

i have a 2004 saturn vue. I have a constant grinding noise from the right front side. It sounded like a hub bearing or warped rotor sound. I replaced both hub bearings and both rotors and pads. It is still there and i can not figure it out. it happens at all times

The only special tool involved is a press tool which is available everywhere

You need to change the wheel bearing. you need to pull out the whole hub and the bearing has to be pressed out and in again with a new one

Hear a grinding noise from the right front wheel when I make left turn (mostly). Noise has now progressed to anytime the wheel is in motion. Also hear squeeking sound (ball bearing possibly?). I've changed...

You should definitely pull the front wheel and check the bearings (they are roller bearings, not ball bearings). With the wheel off, you should be able to isolate where the noise is coming from, but I vote for the bearings. Check, replace and/or repack, and adjust properly. If you have noise, you should be able to feel the "play" in the bearings, or see the wear problem on the spindle and bearings. I hope this helps you.

Grinding noise while driving.

Possible causes:

a) a brake disc shield is too close to the disc, and it's coming into contact in the circumstances you outline

b) pebbles stuck between the disc shield and the disk

c) dried out wheel bearings

d) worn Universal Joints in the drive shafts

e) worn A/C pump

f) worn alternator

g) worn water pump

Is the noise still present above 15 miles an hour and past 1500 rpm when the clutch is disengaged (i.e. gearbox in neutral?). The answer to this question may help you to pinpoint the source. I know it's stating the obvious but the fact that you're hearing a grinding sound means it's caused by something that is moving relative to something else. Again this should help narrow down the cause.

Sounds like the rf hub and bearing assy has had an internal failure. Take it to a local shop and they should be able to confirm.

Popping and grinding noise coming from the right front tire.

it depends if you have 2WD or 4WD, probably either your CV joints, or your wheel bearing, also have your upper and lower ball joints looked at, durangos are bad for those going out. 4WD could have additional problems, like transfer case, front axle bent, and other 4WD probs. i had a similar problem and it was my wheel bearing. buy it offline, not at the parts store, it saved me $140. compared to O'riely Auto Parts.

Are they clicking sounds that have turned to grinding? If so, check your CV joints.
