Where is brake light switch located on gmc canyon

    How do I get it off the pedal?

    2005 GMC brake light switch plunger located on mount by brake pedal.Lost cruise control and brake lights. Unscrewed from mount removed the plunger end. Disassembled and form adjusted the metel contact.Temp fix until a new one is bought. Poor design.

In the 04 models there has been a recall on a part in the brake lights. You can look it up and it gives you a number to call GMC. If you truck is one of the affected models they will replace it for you.

replace switch. Try cleaning it with some electrical or brake cleaner first.

2004 gmc canyon brake issue

brake light switch,replace it
its under the dash at the top of the break peddle takes about 5 min too change

Brake lights dont work on my 2007 GMC Canyon

hi, look for the brake light switch usually locate on the pedal it has two wires, bridge the wires if the lights come on the switch is faulty, hope this helps

you might have the brake shoes adjusted out too much, back them off a little bit and far as the sensor goes, its located on the fuel rail where the injectors are.
