Re: gas gage stuck
Sounds like your fuel level sending unit is bad. This is a common problem with these and my 190E is doing the same thing. They are very easy to replace. If you decide to do it get beck to me and I will walk you through it.

The gauge is faulty or the sending unit in the fuel tank is bad ! There is away to test it, find a wiring diagram an locate the two wires at the fuel pump sending unit connector . Go to radio shack or some other electronics store an buy some resistors of differing resistance , I'm not sure of resistor sizes , I will look it up on my ford service info system. If you jump the right resisters into the fuel sending unit circuit you can make the gauge show 1/4 - 1/2 - 3/4 an full. If it move to those positions with the right size resistors it's not the gauge but the sending unit in the gas tank ! Diagnosis of Stuck Fuel Gauge Is it Gauge or Sending Unit
probably not all that difficult to fix it you have patience. The needle going way past full is an indication of a short before the sender unit or in the sender unit. Pull the power wire from the sender unit and see what the gauge does. IT should stay on the empty mark. IT may be just a fuel sender unit .
mcdevito75 here, Hello john, the sending unit in the gas tank could be faulty of stuck, try leaning against one of the back fenders to move the body of the car from side to side to try to free up the sending unit. You may have to live with it unless yoyur local shop changes the sending unit in the gas tank.
1. is it stuck at !/4 tank when it is turned off? 2.have a scan tool hooked up to it see if it has an option for functional tests some you can select interior-dash and test gauges if you can that is an easy way to see if it works
it sounds like the level sensor on the sender (fuel pick up pipe in the fuel tank) is getting stuck. the level sensor is a float that is attached to the sender, and you will need to remove the fuel tank to get to it.
