Good day;
That is a very good question, I fine the best way for this is by word of mouth. You can call the better business bureau, or you can do the lets take a chance on this one game. But that can be very expensive. I would ask around. Hope this helps. and good luck.

Cheers.

its allways a good idea for one to develop a trusting relationship with there autos mechanic , if you don't feel you can trust them you need to find one that you can , ask questions , ask to see old parts , any mechanic that's honest/good in his work will show you those parts and even explain what they do

2006 trailblazer is leaking transmission fluid, engine is chugging, and the check engine light is blinking.

Call the tow truck... you've got multiple issues going.
If you're good at troubleshooting, start. If not, get it to a mechanic.
Have you been regularly maintaining the vehicle? Did you hit a boulder or run over something? Check for undercarriage damage.

My audi a3 2.0 tdi has cut out and wont start seems like it is turning over really easy it has done 66k and was no funny noises there is no warning lights or anything. All warning lights work, car will...

Time to have a mechanic diagnose it...judging by your description...do you race the vehicle??? is it well Maintained??? Did you buy it new??? have you had the timing belt, and tensioners replaced??? If the timing belt gave way, and there were no funny noises, that means your car has a "non interference" engine, which is a very good thing...find a mechanic that you, or some of your friends trust, and let him/her take a look at it...you might need to leave it for a while...good luck...

I recently had my 1998 a4 1.8t quattro in the shop and I was told that my turbo is not working. Ive noticed no change in performance so I'm assuming it wasn't working when I bought it 3 months ago....

Hello! You have a couple of options...# 1..It is important to maintaining the life of the car and also its resale value...I've included two diagrams of the turbo... The second of which is all off the vacuum lines....I do not know what the mechanic said was wrong with it, however the vacuum lines are worth a look and the possibility exist to fix it...#2...I would recommend taking it to another mechanic for a precise diagnosis of the problem... and, yes if you can find another, if in fact it needs to be completely replaced, Ebay is a good choice or RockAuto.com.........Guru.....Saailer

If it's been maintained well yes, they're excellent cars. If you are considering buying 1 used have a pre sale inspection done by an independent mechanic.

I am interested in purchasing a 2002 Subaru Outback wagon that I test drove yesterday. It has very low mileage (56,000) and appears to be well-maintained and in good shape. However, my husband noticed a...

On the 2002, head gaskets were the subject of a recall. They can go bad almost anytime, usually after 30k, but a good mechanic can take care of it, especially if they torque the mounting bolts properly, but it can take a good number of mechanic hours and cost. The timing belt needs replacing around 100k along with associated parts, a cost you can get quoted. The Outback is a nice car and runs very well if maintained.

1994 Honda Accord, 276,000 miles-keep or buy newer?

Congratulations are in first order for maintaining a vehicle to run well that long.

Your dilemma can be decided by the following factors:
1) parts can become scarce for older car models,
2) increased need for service during normal use
3) fuel efficiency/power for newer car models have improved
and 4) Hondas are not specifically known for their longevity.

The newer compact sedans have increased cabin space, that you may find comparable to the your Accord's. Your dilemma is between cost-efficiency and sentimental value, and this is really up to you whether you purchase a new sedan or maintain the current one.

Hope this helps.

What does an orange engine outline light on the

It can mean many things. Problem is, its always stupid stuff like exhaust leak, fuel cap, o2 sensor etc. As a 26 yr Dodge mechanic, its a way for people to keep bring in thier car to keep dealershiips in business for service calls. As long as the car runs fine, dont waste your money on getting codes read or someone ripping you off on replacing parts. Another light will come on if something major is wrong. Such as check engine, oil, airbag, ABS brake lights. If ya just want to be sure (and waste money) goto a small garage and have the code read for $40 and post your codes and ask someone what it really means, thats if ya dont trust your mechanic. A dealer charges $75 and up. As a final note: talk to your friends, family, and neighbors for a trustworth non-dealer mechanic. It will save ya tons of cash in the long run.
