You'll have to put a volmeter on the battery when the engine is running. The voltmeter should read between 14 and 14.5 volts. If not the alternator is not charging. Could be a defective alternator or a wiring problem.

I don't know about the lightning striking, but I am guessing that you have either a bad alternator, or bad belt tensioner on your engine. I would start with examining the belt and tensioner, then remove the alternator and have it tested for free at a local parts store.
lol check your alternator. asap. thats what mine did when it satrted going bad. checking your levels it easy you just need a voltage meter if it's below 13 when your can is running your alternator is bad
Need to recharge the battery, fully, start the car,and check the charging voltage at the battery with a voltmeter, to verify that the alternator is charging the battery properly. If the alternator isn't working (charging) then the battery will go dead again.Charging voltage at the battery with the engine running should be minimum 13.5 volts up to about 14.5 volts.Battery voltage with the engine off should be minimum 12.5 volts.
