It's most likely an ecm problem(engine control module) it may not be all bad however a hook up to a scan tool with drivabilty capabilty is a good way to find the issue.

Have replaced the alternator and new battery in my 1999 Ford Tarus, worked great for two months. Now back to the same problem. Battery will not hold a charge more than six hours

You'll have to put a volmeter on the battery when the engine is running. The voltmeter should read between 14 and 14.5 volts. If not the alternator is not charging. Could be a defective alternator or a wiring problem.

My car will not start. we just put a new battery in yesterdayand it worked fine all day . this morning it started up no problem but when we went to start it again it would not and we did not even move the...

Need to recharge the battery, fully, start the car,and check the charging voltage at the battery with a voltmeter, to verify that the alternator is charging the battery properly. If the alternator isn't working (charging) then the battery will go dead again.Charging voltage at the battery with the engine running should be minimum 13.5 volts up to about 14.5 volts.Battery voltage with the engine off should be minimum 12.5 volts.
