VW Golf 2000


Hi i replaced lower arm in my car but now the steering isn't stay straight. it goes to the left and stays there if i release the steering. when i brake the steering goes in one side also. how can i slove that problem? i appreciate if you can help me in this matter. the car is 2000 golf diesle 1.9 110kw

    hello, hope you can help,i own a vw golf gt tdi,a 2000 model,when i'm braking the brake peddle shakes as does the steering ,i need to fix this as i'm selling it,thank you

Good day;
Anytime that you have to take the front end apart you have to have an front end alignment done.. Depends on were you live the price is anyway from $80 - 150.

hi, if the 2 problems happened at the same time then probably your alternator belt has broken, as the power steering is also run off the same belt

I used a Haynes VW Golf manual to renew a front suspension coil spring on my 2003 Seat Leon but found removal of the strut almost impossible with the lower arm in position.I have now managed to damage the...


Disconnect the front sway bar linkage from the control arm. Disconnect the steering ball joint and lower control arm ball joint then and only then you will have elbow room work around once you have removed the axle nut from the CV joint. Sorry no short cut for this procedure, some even disconnect the control arm from the car to persuade the removal.

Steer-lock is locking to the point where i cannot unlock it. Takes a lot of effort and patience to finally get the key to turn so that it can be unlocked. Also note: it only locks when the steering wheel...


You need to replace the steering lock unit not just the key part but the whole thing. There r some special tools needed to take off the lock, so find a good mecahnic with vw knowledge.

Steering sticks when turning


sounds like either the camber or caster is off on your alignment or possable you got your steering gear box adjustment too tight .. this will cause it to not return to center.. thanks and holler if you have more..

2000 Jeep cherokee steering wheel alignment


to remouve the steering weel and drive the vehicle slowly look on fordwar in line and replace the colum ,, the noise must came from the adaption that you made . raise the vehicle and see were is any part for the suspention that toutching the chassis and ajust it......
