What its doing is it is hard to start and when it starts if you put it in gear it stops and when it gets to operation temp. it stalls and wont start till it cools. It dosent over heat. Can you help?
The two things in your Jeep that control the air fuel ratio by temp are you coolant temp sensor and your oxygen sensor. Usually when one of these fails you would get a check engine light but not always. If you did, you can flash the the codes yourself and see what went wrong http://wiki.answers.com/Q/1993_Grand_Cherokee_check_engine_codes It also sounds like a clogged catylytic converter could be at fault. Good luck on the hunt for the cause - I hope this steers you in the right direction
Have a compression check done, sound like the piston rings are wore out
