Thr drain plug is located on the oil pan. I believe it is a 16mm wrench needed to remove it.

How do you change the oil on a 2006 chevy colorado

This is for the 5 cylinder 3.5 liter engine in the Colorado

1. The drain plug is in the middle of the oil pan on the drivers side.
Use a 15 mm socket or box end wrench to remove the plug. Drain
oil.
2. The oil filter is at the bottom front corner of the engine on the passenger side. Remove the filter. Try not to tip the filter when you
remove it so you don't get oil on other parts of the truck.
3. Rub a small of oil on the gasket of the new filter. Spin on the new filter, 3/4 to 1 turn past when the gasket starts to seat. Hand tighten
only.
4. Reinstall the drain plug. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN OR YOU COULD
STRIP THE THREADS.
5. Add 6 quarts of oil to the oil filler tube located on top of the engine
in the front and middle of the engine compartment. It shows the location
in the owners manual. Install the filler cap.
6. Start the engine and let it run a few minutes to fill the filter with oil.
Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes for the oil to drain down to
the bottom of the engine. Remove the dip stick and check oil level.
Checking oil level is in the owners manual.

Need to know how to change the oil on a 2008 Hyundai sonata, how many quarts does it need.

ALMOST every car I've worked on has a drain plug on the "oil pan" ..big,.. usually stamped pan on bottom of motor to release used oil .. 1.drain oil 2.reinstall plug
3.remove and replace filter 4. refill with oil.. (my rule of thumb is 4 qts. for 4 cylinder 5 qts' for 6-8 cylinder) you failed to mention 4 or 6 cylinder (your car came with both)

I have a 1987 mercruiser alpha one out drive the boat sat for 5or 6 years engine turns over but no spark also had water in the cylinders drained the oil filled the cylinders with mystery oil let it sit for...

Alpha One is the out drive, what engine do you have? Remove the distributor cap and verify if your ignition is electronic or contact points. Either way, I recommend going with a Pertronix electronic ignition. This module is a simple drop in installation and will eliminate a major portion of your troubleshooting. Pertronix also has a high output coil to accompany their ignition, I recommend you install both as a set.
FYI, water in the cylinders is not good. Especially if it sat for 5-6 years rusting the rings and cylinder walls. Was this boat running when it was parked and do you know the history?

Location of oil drain plug

Bottom passenger side of oil pan. On the side of the pan. It is a metric bolt and the pan is aluminum, be careful not to strip plug when threading it back in.

Oilfilter

You didn't post the size of motor but once you drop the skid plate, you will see it.

The oil filter is under the engine skid plate. You need to remove the trap door to see.
The skid plate door is located by the drivers side door, directly midway underneath the vehicle. You will need a flat or Phillips-hear srewdriver to open the trap door. Don't worry, the screws are 'loss-proof' and will not fall off the trap door plate. Once this has been removed, the oil drain plug and oil filter are now visible and accessable (how smart is that!) Typical oil change and oil filter replacement time = 15-20 mins. for a familiar shadetree. p.s. The Inline 6 (24 valve - 4.2L) takes 7 quarts of oil. Good luck!
