have you tried resetting the windows by powering them all the way down and keeping switched pressed the same all the way up. or could be microswitch in door latch
Roll the window down using something long with a hook on the end (slim jim) and try to unlock the door that way. If you try to take the panel off your going to damage it beyond repair. Before you do this take wd 40 and soak down the door latch, wait awhile 1/2 hr or so then try to unlock. Good luck
With key on door open, hold switch in down position and rap door panel with rubber mallet...if it works, need motor, if not, check switch for power out to motor
Well, the short answer is no. The lights and windows are are different fuses. There's a slight chance you have a problem with a ground wire on that side, but I doubt the two problems are related. I would check the light for power and ground, and look at the window switches for power and ground. The windows are powered thru the driver switch on most cars.
So when it doesn't seal that means the tracks the window have been falling out typically. The door panel needs to come off to inspect the tracks. And if your driver side power window doesn't work, that typically means a seperate problem located in the switch itself. It could also be the wires, so you can run a seperate wire to test the switch by running it directly to the window motor, and pressing the switch down. This can easily be done while the door panel is off so you can hit two problems at the same time.
nitescot, What you can try is to open up the rubber boot running from the body of the vehicle to the door. The constant opening and closing of the door will sometimes cause the wires inside the boot to break. This is a common problem when it comes to power windows. Open the boot with a knife being careful not to damage the wires inside. Look for any broken wires. Repair as necessary. Good luck with this.
remove your door panel, disconnect the motor plug, grab your car battery with 2 cables one in each terminal and connect them on the motor plug, one cable in each pin, be careful that the cables don´t touch each other. The polarity doesn't matter, cause if you change them they are going up or they will go down ok. If the window it's up and it doesn't move change the polarity and it should go down. If it works then it could be the switch or something electrical from the plug to the switch.
If it does nothing then it´s probably that the window motor doesn't work anymore and you should cange the whole mecanism.
