I have a similar problem with the tail lights on my truck staying out. The fuses are okay and both bulbs are now replaced with new ones. I suspect that it is a relay

The owners manual does not describe which relay needs replaced. The stop and turn lights work fine on both sides as do the running lights in the front of the truck.

Installed a brake controller and the green light won't go on. I am told I need to add a fuse where is the fuse box to add the fuse so that the system recognizes the brake controller in a 2002 Eddie...

Hi, this may true if you connected the trailer brake to the connector on the factory wiring harness. There are several fuses that are needed for trailer towing. In the box by the battery, fuses 13, 25, 27, 53, and 54 are needed. You will need a relay in relay slot 19 for the trailer running lights, a relay in relay slot 20 to charge the trailer emergency battery; and, if your trailer has backup lights (6 or 7 wire connector), you will also need a relay in the relay slot 15. If you did not use the factory connector for your trailer brake controller, check to make sure you have connected the controller to an appropriate power source in the truck. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

This is a diagram for the fuse panel located inside the vehicle. there is another one in the engine compartment as well. This should be in your owners manual if you have one. Left tail light out on 02 S10

I had this same symptom after I pulled a trailer that had light "issues". I tried wiggling the trailer light connector around until the trailer lights begin working. Next think I know they were not working again and now my left tail light was out. I thought it odd that is wasn't both lights out being on the same fuse, but checked wiring etc with no problems found. Mine turned out to be the "left tail light fuse" in the engine compartment fuse box. All of the parking and tail lights as independently fuse, You can tell which one it is by the guide on the fuse box lid. You will be looking for a 10 amp (red) fuse near the center of the fuse box.

Running lights on trailer are not working

There is one 15@ fuse in position #5 of the passenger compartment panel down by the brake pedal. There is also one in the power distribution box under the hood. The box is located by the brake booster and opens from the firewall side. It is a rectangular black box right inside the fender. The fuse is a 15@ mini fuse in location #9. It is purple.
