Question about 1994 Saab 900
I'm sure that this has happend to someone out there: my brake lights will 1) stay on after I've released the brake pedal and, 2) will turn on randomly when the car is off and the key is in my pocket! I take the fuse out when I'm not driving the car but what's up with this??
There is a small switch behind the brake pedal check this has not fell out of place need to remove the panel above the pedals

I was doing a brake job on a '97 900. When the pedal was pushed to the floor, the plastic shielding under the dash prevented the pedal from returning completly. Light stayed on. I put the shielding back in place, the pedal returned and the lights went out.

There's a little switch attached to your brake pedal, (In my old 9000 it was about halfway up above the pedal itself, haven't had that problem with my 9-3.... yet;) that can get gummed up and stick, making intermittent contact and also holding the lights on without pressure.
I just got up in there and cleaned it out really well with some WD-40. That seemed to exorcise the evil brake spirits pretty decently.
