Question about 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The truck starts when it wormes up it quits i think its the crank sensor? but i dont know and if it is how do i find it
Most likely i the crank sensor is very very common on these types of vehicles, it is a two (2) wite sensor located on the transmission bellhousing on the Drivers side near the top, If you lay under the truck look along the transmission way up high where the transmission meets the engine you will see it its usually Black, Unclip the lock on the connector, an have to use a 24-36" 3/8" drive extenstion and a wobble 10mm socket to take the sensor off It lifts UP out of its mounting place when you get the new one FROM JEEP not a parts store FROM JEEP FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT UNDER ANY CONDITINS WHATSOEVER REMOVE THE SMALL PAPER PIECE FROM THE END ON THE CRANK SENSOR JUST INSTALL IT!!!!! IT IS THERE FOR A REASON!
If this information is helpful please give me a fixya
BUT..... now be advised I am only tellng you that the crank sensor is common I am not telling you that is your problem though it sounds like the typical symptoms.
There is also another sensor that will act IDENTICAL to the crank sensor its the CAM SENSOR it is in the distributor under the rotor sometimes called a pick-up or distributor pick-up its a good idea to change both at the same time FROM JEEP no parts stores Please do not let price keep you from using the BEST PARTS AVAILABLE THERE IS A DIFFFERENCE IN QUALITY AND ORIGINAL FACTORY IS DEFINATELY BETTER.
