Cuts out? Revs goes everywhere? Stops again? Air mass? All confusing and incomplete descriptions. Cuts out means spits and sputters? Revs goes everywhere means uncontrolled engine speed, going to 8000 rpm without your foot on the accelerator? Stops again means the problem goes away or do you mean it begins to cut out again? Air mass, could you possible mean the Mass Airflow Sensor? Do you get a Check Engine Light? If no check engine light I'd suspect the ignition system (coil, connections, and spark plug wires) or the fuel delivery system, fuel pump, bad fuel pump relay.

Spark plugs. Or ignition coil.

Suzuki swift gti 1996 starts but cuts out after 5 seconds

When starting/cranking, computer will activate fuel relay so that it will start. Once running there are fail safes built in - no oil pressure, bad signal from crank angle sensor or throttle position sensor, crash sensor activated (stops fuel pump) or even immobilizer faulty. Will it idle with Mass Air Flow sensor unplugged? Could be a broken wire or bad connector. Hope you have found problem by now! An auto electrician will find it very quickly.

My 89 GTi battery light came on and then the

If the alternator is bad, and it is cause battery light is on, the elec. system does not have enough power (voltage) for the system to work right, being that it's only working off the battery voltage till battery goes weak. Have an alternator check done or check voltage at battery with engine running, should have no less then 13.5 volt's.

Timing belts don't while because they don't slip! Could be the water pump/alternator belt.

Air intake Problem

It is called a warm up tube. It's purpose is to keep the CARB or Throttle plate area from icing up.

I have witnessed icing at 45 degrees (measured) ambient temprature. The low pressure surrounding the throttle plate(s) makes the area very cold.

If you do not have this tube, or the controls for it are not working, you get wierd stalling, or over rich conditions...Turn car off for few minutes (7-11 stop for example) and restart car...pretso, runs and idles perfect...

1999 suzuki swift stalling problem

could be a sticking idle air control valve... a little cylinder on the side of your throttle body.. it helps control your idling air fuel ratio.. this goes bad could cause your problems... also easy for you to replace... normally 2 small bolts and a harness.. usually run about 35-85 dollars.. check price and if it's about 35 or so.. i'd go ahead and change it anyways.. 9 years it's probly due.. :D
