Question about 2000 Honda Civic
This car has done 42k mls. No oil pressure at all, oil pressure light stays on continually, checked oil pressure switch and that's ok removed oil filter to check whether oil was circulating up to this point and found it was not. Checked relief valve, plunger slightly scored and found that the inside of the cylinder has a 2mm half moon shape chip at the edge.
Should I examine the pump? or what would you advise, are there any other checks I could carry out before taking the pump off.

I am having the same issues. I am about to check the relief valve myself. There are two remaining factors for you the actual pump or the little ol o-ring on the back of pump that seals oil pump tube to block. If it is bad or blown you will not build pressure. I am not sure if it would cause a no pressure issue though. Good luck...
