Question about 2002 Honda Accord
Our 2002 Accord (Auto trans) gets a clunking sound at low speed after high speed driving. We initially thought it was a CV joint. If you put the car off the ground when it happens, it occurs with the left wheel turning. The local mechanic checked the CV joints, and they seem ok. I'm beginning to think the problem might be in the transaxle, since the car has to have been driven to the point of getting the tranny hot before the problem shows up.
It sure sounds like a cv joint. did he take apart the cv joint? ive had some that just drove me nuts. couldnt get them to make noise when off the ground. we ended up putting in a half shaft and cured the problem after a very long day. i dont like throwing parts at a problem but this was the only way we found this one.
