fix the choke to work properly for starters next if you still have the original cast iron manifold then get the butterfly in the exhaust to work as well. It heats up the inlet manifold which helps to vaporise the fuel
Check that the fuel pump is working and pumping fuel (fuse or burnt out) as it sounds like there is no fuel in the carby. To check if the engine is going to run remove the air filter from the top of the carby and pour about a table spoon of fuel directly into the carby throat. Replace the air filter and crank the engine. If is going to run it will fire and then stop
Float level in carby, fuel filter clogging up, insufficiant fuel preasure from pump. blocked or dirty fuel and fuel lines. Other things related to the carby could also be at fault
might have to put a carby kit through it, the jets might be blocked thats what it sounds like. when you poor it in the fuel and air gets in straight away but if the jets are blocked you wont get the fuel through. try carby cleaner, use the accelrator cable on the side of the carby to rev it right up while spraying in carby cleaner car will try die out then let off the accelerator. basically you have to clean your carby out
IS IT CARBY IF SO PUT CAP FULL OF FUEL IN TOP OF CARBY IF THAT WORKS TAKE OF FUEL LINE AND CHECK NEEDLE N SEAT IF ITS FUEL INJECTED TAKE OF FUEL LINE TO SEE IF FUEL PUMPS OUT IF YOU HAVE ELEC FUEL PUMP IT MAY ME THAT AS WELL CHEERS
hi.. so is it a carby or direct inj or throtle body inj ? if its a carby then you may need to clean out the jets, if not then the fuel does not neciserily go through the throttle body, just make sure your fuel lines are on the correct way, they are easy to confuse and usualy the most common mistake... if it is a mechanical fuel pump to a carby try starting useing 'easy start' aerosol can and it might help **** the fuel through... also if the carby is empty it will be hard to get fuel in so you can help by tipping some fuel into the carby pots..
Are you sure its the Carby as it could be the fuel pump as they have a lot of problems with the pumps and so remove the puel pipe from carby and spin over engine.. If still no fuel then go to the fuel filter and if dirty replace it (it should be on the chassis or under the bonnet and try again if still no go then try tipping a small amount down the carby throught and then start if starts the carby float or main jet is faulty /but fuel must come out the fuel lines first
before carby faulty job...
# replace fuel filter
# remove fuel from pump the one that goes back to the pump remove fuel cap blow threw with compressed air to make sure there is no blockages
# if u can get a fuel pressure gauge check fuel pressure it should be about 4-6 psi
# on the carby fuel where it connects to the carby there should be a bolt take it of and from memory there is a little screen filter check if its blocked and clean blow air into the carby fuel inlet
# on the bottom of carby body midway is 2 nuts facing down one has the main jey in it when u take this off all the fuel should come out of the carby place air nozzle in hole and hit it with high pressure to clear
