Notorious drivers side caliper lock up. I hate that,,LOL....
Testing your lines are simple. Unscrew the bleed valve, pump the break a few time making sure all lines are clear. If so you will have fluids squirting all over, lol.
That also gives indication that your ABS unit is okay to. Free flowing fluids is a good sign.
The calipers are known to lock and break.
If your fluids are are flowing out the bleed screw then it is most likely the calipers.
Buying the more expensive ones in this case is best. If you keep buying the same part from the same manufacturer and still have problems then switch the manufacturer. Maybe go buy one from a different parts store because they usually do not carry the same product from same manufacturer. Make sure the part is not a refurb. because usually the lowest price products they sell are refurbished items.

But anyways. Make sure while your changing out your locked caliper for a better and new one, make sure the disc is not damaged-no deep lines or groves around the disc.If so I would replace those asap. Their as cheap as 20-30 bucks.

Hope this helped. I just recently changed my locked caliper 2 months ago.
No problems sine then and I drive over 100 miles a day.

Front brakes lock up

Hi Walter
You said, The front brakes lock up.
Hoe this is happening? Is the wheels lock up by itself?
If this the case, you need to check the front brake flexible hoses for blockage and/or the brake booster pushing rod needs adjustment. (Should be 1MM away from master cylinder).
Good luck

Front left brake keeps locking up

i suspect that you have a bad caliper which is sticking. look there first, and always replace both if on the front, since murphy's law usually applies. thats where 60% of your stopping power comes from. the anti lock system won't normally cause the problem you describe, but a bad caliper will. make sure the rotors are ok as well.

Brake lock-up

I suspect that you have front disc and rear drum brakes. You did not say which of your brakes are locking up. I suggest that if your front brakes are locking {skid} that means your rear brakes are not engaging. If your rear brakes are locking {skid} then I suggest you have problems with park brake or brake fluid leaking onto the rear shoes.
More info would help me help you. I will check back soon.

Front brakes locking up

Sounds like the front brake hoses went bad on you. Fluid goes into the calipers and builds up pressure, and applies the brakes, because the fluid can't come back out of the calipers. Usually when hoses go, they tear on the inside, creating a one way valve type of flap. I hope that this helped. Best wishes to ya.
